    :rotfl::T I second that!

    I really don't know what to say about 'topdaddy's' posts. Just one word covers it really: unbelievable.

    To not address the issue immediately when you smell gas, by calling transco ASAP, is extremely foolhardy and very dangerous.
    You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:

    I'd call them out, even if you've turned it off, since I wouldn't know if I'd done it right

    Absolute tosh( in this case).
    The op has not presented an imeadiate problem. Its a leak today, not tonight. They have, quite rightly turned their supply off. At the mains. Which stops the gas supply into their building. Now if they had commented that the smell of gas is current then imeadiate action would be required. But this situation appears to be safe, the OP hasnt commented on the dissapation of the smell. However, one would assume that if there is an imeadiate smell and the remeadial actions of switching off the mains has not reduced the olfactory conditions then the second port of call after contacting the landlord would NOT be create a thread on a money saving website. Lets not get all hollywood about this people.

    I 100% disagree with you...like everyone else does.

    You are 100% wrong.

    Why do you think everyone is disagreeing with you?

    Anyway, the OP has very sensibly contacted TRANSCO now, and it will be dealt with tonight. TRANSCO are probably already at the OP's house actually...

    The OP took the sensible and correct advice. She did NOT leave it until tomorrow, she rang TRANSCO and got them out tonight.

    So that is the end of the matter.

    Goodnight. :)

    My old man works for Transco and topdaddy is correct....it's not as urgent if the gas supply is off...

    Fact of the matter is that all the Transco engineer will do at just before midnight is turn the gas supply off if it's not a very quick fix....

    You may well be correct.

    However, if i had a suspected gas leak i think i'd prefer your old man to be the one to make a qualified assessment of what was safe or not rather than listen to topdaddy's 'advice'.
