Wow, I admire your faith in the mechanics industry.
    It.s not a scam hey?

Lol, a nearly new tyre with a screw right in the middle. No other problems with tyre and they tell me they can't do a puncture repair.

It's a licence to print money and a scam in my opinion.

I've had too many times to mention when I've been scammed by possibly one of the worst industries for it.

I guess you must all be mechanics?

I'd give advice, but as we can only post responses that meet the OP's approval, I'm out.

Nearly new tyre, that's already had a leak before and was bodged with Tyre Weld rather than getting a professional to fix it?

As you have said you took the wheel, I assume it wasn't on the car. There was nothing stopping you going elsewhere for a second opinion. Preferable one that doesn't charge £20 to bung a hole.

    Yeah, load of scammers !

Last time I paid for 2 new tyres and he had the cheek to put the rear wheels to the front, remove tyre that was leaking slightly, clean rim, new valve and balance both old ones FOC. And he made me have a free cup off coffee. Rip off merchants I tell ya;)

sorry but your average tyre fitter is hardly a mechanic :rotfl::rotfl:

if it was a nearly new tyre with no other problems and a screw in the middle of the tread then a repair would be possible

the tyre fitter said that the tyre was full of tyre weld, was he just saying this or was the tyre actually full of tyre weld or dont you know?

I have been using the same independent tyre place for the last 30 years and the only time i got ripped off was when i had to go elsewhere

I was on the motorway down near luton and didnt fancy doing the next 500 miles on a space saver spare so i went to a tyre place in luton and they said i needed a new tyre rather than a repair

the reason i was ripped off the tyre was £50.00 dearer than i would pay for the same tyre at home
