Relatedish to my original thread - its now £125 to cheaper to book the BA flights via Lastminiute, than it is to buy via BA direct (any Quidco cashbacks etc would make the difference even greater)

Thanks. On grandparents duty at end of January. :D

Frequent Flyer miles are often not given for some cheaper fare classes. Check with the rules of your FF programme for details. Some fares may have 0% miles, some 25 or 50 or 100% miles.

The Opodo fares will almost certainly be the cheapest available and are most likely to accrue fewest miles. Frequently the booked fare class is not shown when booking through agents, and you may need to phone to find out.

Many people are disappointed if they do not read the rules carefully!

BA gives at least 100% miles on all their "normal" (i.e. anything Opodo would sell) fares.

    Hello J

The ticket classes would have attracted airmiles.

My initial grump was a) with the opodo website which wouldn't let me put in the childrens FF numbers and further compounded by b) the highly skilled, excellently trained, bilingual gentlemen at the other side of the world who told me that Frequent Flyer programmes for children don't exist and further grumped by c) the email that came back to me from (I presume) a 6 year old who had been brought in on a "let your your child pretend to be a customer service specialist" day. :D

OK, thanks for the info. Glad you will be getting all the miles.

I've been stung in the past on a flight to Auckland, and it took a lot of letter writing to get the miles credited.

As to the travel agent "experts", yes, you do have to make sure you know what's what and do some insisting sometimes.

It can be a lot easier to use the airline site to book, especially when things get changed or go wrong after booking.

    Hope all goes well.

When I'm older and no longer have the pleasure of my children travelling with me & I don't have the same restrictions on my time, I hope that 'dodges' such as travelling from Gotheburg still exist, as I'd love to take advantage of them and see another city/country into the bargain.
