A saving of £100 is worth having, but if you read the reviews you will see that it is probable that you will have a lot of hassle, and end up paying at least as much as the fare offered for those who book directly with the airline.0 -
Quidco/Opodo is 1.3% on flights so I assume you are spending about £8,000 on flights. If Opodo are displaying flights cheaper than direct with BA then do not be surprised to be contacted once you have paid to tell you the prices are higher and they want more money
It is worth reading the reviews (here and on tripadvisor) before you make the final decision the service has gone down significantly in the last couple of years
hello Caz
Fresh from my screen
via BA
£3820.68 Debit Card
£3840.68 Credit Card
the same flights on Opodo
£3810.78 via Debit Card
£3906.24 Credit Card
Less 1.3% CB = £3761.23 & £3855.45 respectively
From when I fisrt ran this across my scree this morning, the BA price has remained the same, but the Opodo price has risen by £20.
In fairness to Opodo, now that I've reread my notes, the original difference was £80, NOT £100.0 -

The children are on the cusp of getting 'reward' flights to America and the miles from the July trip will be very gratefully rec'd.
Going O/T I got an Expedia email with 'BA Flash Flight Sale' this morning. I had a butchers and I don't think that my flight price has altered because of any seat sale-- I think that it has dropped because APD for the kittens has been taken off.
Also the younger Crispies are too old (just!) for that news to make a difference. And Miss Crispy will be 16 in 2016 *sigh*
I looked at that Expedia email but it just seemed to be specific destinations and not where we're going."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0 -

hello Voyager
I may be a lot of things in life and some are less pleasant than others, but I'm not a short bloke that lives under a bridge.
Until I read this thread, I wasn't aware that Opodo/Edreams had such a bad reputation. I'd used them previously and had been a satisfied customer.
I've previously used 3rd party booking sites and at times they have been cheaper than the airline directly - usually when the quidco cash back comes into play. To date, they've all worked OK for me.
I'm quite happy to juggle cash back rates, Credit Card Charges, booking fees etc, etc, with travel agents, airlines, t'interweb booking sites to come to a final figure.
But I'm just as interested in value, as I am in price and I can't be fached with aggravation AFTER I've made a purchase.
Lastminute, Expedia & Ebookers have always been faultless with me. Until I read this thread, I had no reason (based on previous experience) to think that Opodo would be any different.0 -

No worries Crispy
The email that I got didn't mention routes/destinations, simply 'click here to see the offers'0 -
OK, to hopefully conclude
The Opodo Website is covered with bruises where people have hit it with bargepoles
And
If you don't enter your FF details at the point of booking, you can add them to to your booking, via the airline at a later date.

I wrote to opodoo with my query and it's good news and bad news. The good news is that the replied to me. The bad news is that their reply in no way answered my query and it reads as though it was written by a six year old. Nevermind.
I feel as though I had lucky escape.0 -
Once you have your booking number you can go on to the airline's "manage my booking" and add them theretravelover0
-
You can add\Cx FF accounts at CHECK-IN:cool: so no panic about not having them at booking.
So long as the FF number is added to the boarding pass before you fly the first (outbound ) leg you should be fine.d
I've had it changed when I've entered the lounge.0
