My washer dryer kicked the bucket last Saturday, so I'm in the market for one too. The old Hotpoint one is 15 years old, so it's not worth repairing, and many spares are obsolete anyway.
Indesit are one of the most reliable brands on the Which website, but there's not a huge difference between most. I'm teetering on the brink of ordering this one, but's been criticised for being a bit noisy, it's quite old too, so I don't know how much longer the spares will be available for. Which rate this one very highly, but it's a bit steep.0 -

I would second getting a separate washer and dryer if you have the space. I used to pull out the clean wash and dry specific items only. The dryer shrunk most of the baby clothes so just as well they were prem. We never use our dryer now. It's obsolete in the garage.0

I've found the old saying 'you get what you pay for' to be very accurate when it comes to washing machines. I would only consider a Miele or a Bosch. Appliances Online have always offered my great service and very quick delivery.0

Which rate Miele top for reliability, but Indesit come second, and you can buy three of those for the price of a Miele.0 -

I have a Hoover washer-dryer - it washes well but I don't rate the dryer. It's better than not having a dryer but I preferred having the two machines separate - unfortunately I only have space for 2 applicances and needed a dishwasher.
I also have a Lakeland heated drying rack and I highly recommend this if you have enough clothes generally to be getting on with - it will dry up to 3 loads of washing in about 12 hours (at least that's what I find) which is fine if you're not working on a wash and immediate wear basis.0 -
I don't see how washer dryers works as you can't tumble dry a lot of items. I have a new Beko 9kg washing machine bought in sale for £299 from the Co-op. I have had all sorts of washing machines that have died on me but Beko go on and on and they are really affordable.0

If they have a 'wasn'n'dry' programme, they probably don't encourage you to use it.Signature removed for peace of mind0
