Washer dryer

Hey,
I was not sure where to post this and when I saw money saving mums I thought who better to ask.
It's terrible timing but three weeks before Christmas our washing machine has broken. Why it couldn't wait until the January sales I don't know. We would like to get a washer dryer as I have a six month old so getting the clothes dry in the winter is proving hard. I wanted to ask if anyone could recommend any brands or even knows of any good deals about at the moment?
Thanks

Welcome, but be aware that with a washer dryer you can only do one load at a time and you may have to take half the load out before starting the drying program. Which means each load takes 2-3 times as long to do before you can put the next wash on.
So it wouldn't have suited me when the boys were young because I usually did 2-3 loads one after another.
If you haven't got room for a separate dryer, can you fit a heated clothes airer in anywhere?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I have just bought an indesit washer dryer and very happy with itI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I've got a Miele washer dryer and love it.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I hated mine- it just cooked the clothes!

I know it's not really the answer to the question but I go to the launderette once a week with all my drying and I use the machines there - I get a ton of it done for about £3 (it's 20p for 2 minutes) and I believe that's cheaper than running a machine at home. They're gas dryers so they're piping hot, sometimes the clothes are still warm in the basket the following day. Don't know if the OP has a launderette anywhere near but that's a consideration.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I was in exactly the same situation as you 4 years ago (had a nearly 6 month old too!) we bought a Miele washer dryer, it's the best I've ever had
Delivery was delayed though due to all that horrendous snow. I ended up going to the launderette with about 6 huge bags of washing and had a service wash done and I think it was £20. It was all neatly folded when I went to collect it, I nearly cancelled the Miele
If you can afford it get a Miele...0 -
Love my indesit washer dryer.
I had 2 in reuseable nappies and it was a godsend in the winter. My house only had space to dry 1 load at a time, so I could wash 1 load and hang it dry, then wash a 2nd load and tumble dry it.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Thanks for all the replies. There is no launderette nearby so the travel would make it too much and my son is unwell at the moment so we will be housebound for the next couple of days. I have had a look at miele ones but they look so expensive! I don't think that is going to be possible unless we cancel Christmas lol. I will look at the indesit ones, I just have to find a good deal now.0

I bought the Samsung Ecobubble 2 months ago and I'm very happy with it so far. I opted for the 12kg drum which means I can still wash and dry a full load of 9kg without taking any clothes out. Check Quidco for any deals/ cashback on household appliances0

My advice is to go for the cheapest machine possible and buy and extended warranty, or go for the most expensive one you can afford.0
