  • I usually spend around £250-£300 , this year it's ended up over double that as he has also had a ps4 and watch on top of the other gifts.
We don't do credit at all though so if there was no disposable cash he would only get what we could actually afford and vice versa, which we would both be fine with.
I see absolutely no point or intelligence in getting into debt for Christmas.

is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

£5-£10 on a token gift to open and it's bought with his hard-earned money anyway. We don't really do gifts.

Its just the two of us and our dogs (my babies!) and we are big christmas lovers and use this as an excuse to buy things we wouldnt normally, I love buying presents, perhaps this will change over the years but its all paid for with our own savings and we dont go into debt so why not! So excited! :D

Zero. Although we are big Christmas fans and still do all the other stuff, after 34 years the best present that we could have is that we are still together and have good health.

I've spent £95 on him. Wish it could have been more but I'm on benefits now and skint. And none of it is terribly interesting- he asked for socks and pants and money towards his glasses which he has already got, and he has his usual calendar. Have also bought him a Dove for Men set and two polo shirts which he doesnt know about. He's given me £20 of my Xmas money this weekend so I can pay my train fare to my uni day school on Saturday... He's giving me the other £80 before I go home for Xmas.

Around £100 to £150. We both love Christmas and even after 34 years together get excited about it. He didn't have a very happy childhood and often didn't get any presents so why shouldn't I spoil him now?

We also buy surprise presents for each other throughout the year.

    £0.

We don't do Christmas presents for each other. We both buy things we want during the year and our money is joint, so if we both buy presents we're just spending a chunk of our own money.

We buy each other presents randomly during the year - just at times when we see something and think of the other. Surprise presents are lovely. :)

I know I sound like Scrooge but we don't see the point in arbitrarily buying presents based on the date, especially when there's nothing either of us particularly wants.

We do of course buy presents for family and friends!

We apply this principle to everyone. It's fabulous, less stressful, costs nothing and helps to save the planet a little.

  • Just totted up as I've just got his last bits yesterday.

Spent £58.50 on 10 wrapped presents (full price value just over £110) and £15-20 on bits for his stocking
