How much are you spending on your partner this Christmas?

We dont have set budgets for these things, its more about getting something the other person would really want/ like etc. Sometimes its £30 sometimes its £3,000 it just depends.
At the moment I am up to £12.50 for this year but I know there are a few design books she really wants and they are all over £100 each but as we are going away with EasyJet for Xmas & NYE the extra weight isnt going to be appreciated.0 -
Probably about £200-300 I got him a PS Vita in the Black Friday sales but there are about 3-4 albums he wants and a couple of DVD's. I know he is desperate for GTA V so that's about £40 on amazon at the min and I also want to get him a bottle of that Haige whiskey by David Beckham.
It's the first Christmas in 6 years together when he hasn't had to work so I want to make it special especially as my mum who we are going to visit has just been diagonised with cancer for the second time I want to make it special for her too so have spent about the same possible a little more on her as she is on her own I like to spoil herFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

Sorry Faith, best wishes to your mum!0 -
Interesting question and one I touched on in my thread earlier on today. This year I have spent around £60-£70 on my husband. This is slightly less than normal I think but this is the first year I have really budgeted in true MSE style for Christmas presents. We do not have sole accounts (well not accounts for spending - I have sole savings accounts in my name for tax reasons) but our everyday current account which we use for everything is joint so we can both see what the other is spending. Similarly for that reason I do not tend to look too closely at the current account until January so I do not see my husband's spending - he only buys presents for me, I do all the rest. For this reason I think we do not go overboard. I would be interested to hear whether those who have accounts in their name only spend less or more when their partner does not get to see afterwards how much was spent.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. £70 - it was originally £50 but he told me to give whatever I'd spend on his present to his favourite podcasts (most of the people who do them work for free and don't earn much). However I can't let him have nothing to open on Christmas Day so he's got a Body Shop hand cream - bought half price on Black Friday - and a personalised mug (he just started a new job and has been talking about getting his own mug for the office).
I'm also spending £5 on a Christmas stocking for him, but that will be mostly food (no idea what yet though!)."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

Makes no difference. Our financial situation is discussed openly as part of our financial planning. We each have our own accounts but a shared accountant /financial planner and appointments and financial plan and budget.and often see each other's accounts for details. I have a neurological problem which makes me nervous of paying for things online ( as I make so many errors in typing) so ask my husband to do that for me.
I do withdraw money in cash and often buy small gifts from that out of 'my personal spend' budget. So the kind of gifts we more frequently buy are lost in personal spend bracket.0 -

We are at the stage where we have everything we need and pretty much everything we want. So we are stuck at what we really could buy each other, safe to say we are spending mostly on our Son.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
