Worst case scenario MF Plan for rest of mortgage:
- From January 2016, if I OP only £100pm for the rest of the mortgage term, I will be free on the date of my 37th birthday (2026)!! How amazing is that???
I'm hoping to be MF before 37, but that's a great base to work back from
Anyway, need to get back to work. This procrastination is not good!

Hi
I always spend a day in the summer looking to reduce monthly costs. And I always work out how much per year I save -for what is the same service bonus! It gets harder each year but I guess that's a good thing. I look out all insurances, gas electric, mobile, land line and Internet and see where I can trim, using cashback sites to help. As pay rises are often hard to come by its fun creating your own
My MSE week is going much as they have in recent months. I have been off work sick for a while and progress is slow with improvements in health. I can't moan I'm much better than I was four months ago, just a bit frustrating. On the plus side, much less money spending as can't drive and bit of home growing for food. God bless netflix and kindle is all I can say!!
Great news re your worst case scenario, still three years earlier than me. It will feel awesome and none of your friends will believe you!!
Not sure how banks value property. I think halifax just asked me when I remortgaged

Yes I have been reading about the heat and dogs, it's quite scary. My lab is def feeling chirpier today as it's a lot cooler, and weirdly wanting to drink more today.0

Bexster - I'm sorry to hear you're off work sick
That must be really hard to keep motivation, and frustrating with the slow progress? I wish you all the best in a speedy recovery! It's a fraction of what you're experiencing, but I've had achilles tendonitis in both ankles for the last month. I can hardly walk. I'm supposed to be doing a 10k run in just over two weeks, but I'll be lucky if I can start running short distances by the time it's here
I'm gutted as it was a huge goal of mine. Oh well. Going to do the race no matter what time I get. But I know how it feels to be waiting and helpless to speed things along. I found it quite depressing and turned to cookies, resulting in putting on weight :rotfl: but hey ho. What doesn't kill us shapes us and makes us stronger, right?! I'm obsessed with Netflix and my kindle! Although the free kindle books aren't as good as they used to be. I can't find any good series on Netflix at the moment, any suggestions? I need to start using cashback sites. I'm not sure what they are and how to use them, need to research this. I wish I could grow veggies, I tend to kill all plant life, no matter how I try :rotfl:Do you have a MF diary? I'd love to read about your progress, especially as you're time frame goal is so simular to mine. Hope your evening is going well.
Mrs_E - My spoilt animals have been the same. They all have new collars today (lucky !!!!!!s) not very MSE of me, but they were on offer and so Summery  Yep, they're like my kids :rotfl:

Day 211 of following my dreams:
Quick update. Considering I don't watch TV anymore (only Netflix now and again), I've decided to cancel my TV License. They were surprisingly accepting and are refunding 6 months worth of payments, which is £72.72. I didn't realise I'd be getting that, so that will be a nice OP for July:D:D
Also, I had a letter through and I have a tax rebate of £126, woop woop!Once that's cleared that's another lovely OP
I'm aware I'm receiving a nice chunk of luck the last few days, and I'm weary of the negative thing that's bound to happen to balance it out :rotfl:
Anyway, I need to dye my hair and hoover the house top to bottom tonight :doh:Hope your evenings are more restful!

Hello!
The tendonitis sound awful! good luck with the 10k!
Hopefully am on the final straight to mending, but thanks for well wishes. I confess I have never had a diary. Some people from real life know my username so never been full comfortable spilling my financial guts on here 😀
Quidco and topcashback are two best cashback sites I know of. Easy Peary to use, register and then go to their website first before you purchase anything online and see if they have cashback and or discounts. Click through to your retailer of choice and await your cashback!:D
In terms of netflix series I am relatively new to the scene so am likely to be watching what you've seen. The good wife is excellent if you haven't watched. As is breaking bad ( though I did get a bit bored series 3). Once upon a time is a series I'm currently watching which is also good. Favorite short series on there is Derek. I can highly recommend if you've not seen it.
Good news on the cash today! You cannot possibly NEED to dye your hair! Not at your age!

Bexster - Ah right, that makes sense. I would hate anyone I know personally to see all my finances mapped out _pale_
I like the sound of these cashback sites! I'm going to try them out next time I buy something... Just signed up and oh my goodness I'm obsessed!
I've been thinking about starting the Good Wife, think I will now you have mentioned it
And no I don't need to dye my hair, but my roots are showing through something terrible :rotfl: Don't want to scare everyone at work tomorrow.

Caught up with your diary, you have been busy which is very inspiring for you but particularly for me. I need to get back on it! Isn't it amazing the hundreds of savings you can achieve with a few hours.
When we renewed our mortgage they asked us the value and they agreed it. I don't know if they verified it somehow though.
My netficks recommendations are: Breaking bad, Sons of Anarchy and House of cards. I've loved each one so much I was sad to see them end!
When I started my diary I rang all my providers and said nicely I'm sorry I can't maintain these payments (pled poverty) can they be reduced and nearly all did surprisingly even things where I was mid way through contract. If your looking for another pay rise it may be worth your while. Also do you wear uniform? I did a uniform tax rebate and got a lovely little chunk.

Apologies in advance, I've taken pain medication and it's zapped my focus. I keep re-reading this post and finding typos and other errors. Please ignore them
Hi Cream Tea, I'm glad you've found my diary inspiring. Made me feel amazing when I read thatThank you. I've just found your diary and about to have a read, I bet you're just as inspiring!! And wow, cracking save with your £402p.a. saving!! I'm going to ring up a couple of companies and say I can't pay like you suggested. Thanks for the tip!
Day 215 of following my dreams
I'm starting to feel depressed about staying in my current home until 2033. I'm desperate to move. I live in the middle of nowhere and seriously feel like I'm missing out on my 20's. The capital city (Cardiff) is an hour commute by car, and a mission by train. I have no friends in my local area. They all live in Cardiff/Bristol/Swansea
I can't move until 2033 because my job will be unstable over the next 8 years, due to switching jobs to gain experience for my future career. Plus, I wouldn't have a big enough wage/deposit for a place in Cardiff.
So to combat this depression, I started playing with figures seeing if I could achieve an earlier date. I'm not giving up and with the mindset of being MSE, I have a new plan
New improved MF plan:
It's still following my original plan of doing as many OPs as possible to clear the mortgage, but with a slight detour half way through.
If I push back my studies for a year in 2019, making my final date of finishing studying Sept 2023, it allows me to stay in my current job a while longer and save a huge chunk. This in turn can help me move a lot earlier.
My original moving date was 2023, but now I'm aiming for Nov 2018. That's a huge leap forward!! It makes a lot of financial sense too, seeing as I'll be (fingers crossed) studying in Cardiff too, this means less money on commute, possibly getting rid of my car, saving money there too.
The nitty gritty:
So, the goal is to OP as much as possible (10% p.a.) and also have a OP savings pot to get enough money together to OP in bulk. The hope is to have roughly £60,000 deposit by the time I move (Nov 2018)... My current deposit savings (house equity) is £12,446.37.... That's a whopping £47,553.63 to be found in 3 years and 5 months... That's 41 months... 41 pay days...
There's a new race track being built close to where I live, with a completion date of the end of 2017 (fingers crossed). This will boost the local economy hugely, in turn raising house prices (I can hope).
If I get my planned pay rise in a couple of months, I believe this all could be possible... However it will be hard considering I'll be paying study fees too. But I think it's doable. It's another far fetched goal from StrawberryJam132! :rotfl:
Thoughts anyone?
Hope you're all well, and that this post didn't bore you
