As far as I know, when it comes to road signs, those outlined red are Mandatory (i.e. speed limit, stop sign)... those in black/other are merely advisory.

so that still makes me a law abiding citizen.

I am just a petty infringement touting bad a$s !!!!
Perhaps you should re-read your highway code...

    http://yellowboxjunction.co.uk/Yellow-Box-Junction-What-the-Law-says.htm

There's also some stuff on that website that might help you (if its still valid).

Even if it is the law, it was a law which wasn't actively enforced (until as of late from what I am gathering), and a law which isn't actively enforced.. isn't much of a law..... or at least not one that anyone cares about.

anyway, thank you for your input, I have posted on that fightback forum.

I am considering the reduced amount of £65... since its the council, and they stand their ground more than the private firms do...

Lovinituk - thanks - but towards the end there I was just playing devils advocate/ trolling wiog a bit :P

Wiog - make sure the doctors are careful when they remove that stick from your a$s.

    p.s. Wiog - find yourself a girl mate :P

You are wrong about a lot of things. Perhaps stop digging a hole now and see if the good folk at pepipoo can help you out.

Not digging a hole, making a valid points.

laws with low enforcement/mass disobedience generally get decriminalised and eventually legalised in the end. Because it effectively is what society wants.

i.e. prohibition, marijuana in some US states.

anyway, this is MSE not lexisnexis, and thus not the place to start such a debate.

Any examples for the UK, which would be more relevant?

You're obviously a legal expert so not sure why you need advice from here or Pepipoo?

yes - Marijuana, down from class B to Class C.

Possession for personal use has been decriminalised effectively.

Enforcement is so low, that there was a man smoking it outside COSTA coffee shop a few weeks ago, while there was a police community support officer sitting in a car about 50 metres away from him.

I am not into all that, but give it 30 years, and recreational drugs like cocaine will be sold over the counter in BOOTs.

Laws generally follow the zietgeist, social momentum etc...

I am not a legal expert, i studied the economics of law etc.. philosophy surrounding etc...

but when it comes to the inside track and the specifics, I don't know what to do. Especially when it comes to motoring offences.

Hence I am here, to seek knowledge.

As said Pepipoo are best to help with that. Jlc has answered your post over there and suggested you post scans of the paperwork so that's your next best course of action.

And tried rerunning the same arguments, despite being warned not to. So I'm unsurprised by the response you've got so far.
