Vegas is a lot of walking ......would you consider hiring a wheelchair out there as just about everywhere is chair accessible ?

I know I've seen it advertised in the coupon mags alternatively your hotl conseirge should be able to help or maybe see if trip advisor has info?

If your foot is in plaster you may need a fit to fly cert and the plaster split too.

Remember to book airport assistance too.

Cheers all for the stuff on SF to LV...
NVH, good info, cheers, very useful! :)

I used to work in SF 10 years ago (California street), so remember the homeless being a major thing... Its the wife who wants to go this time!. I did the highway 1 down to Big Sur, 300 mile drive for the day :)

Really like the idea of Yosemite for the night, and furnance creek for the night, then onto LV....
I've now factored that into my plan for next year, just hope I can get us direct flights to SF for under £480 each ! :D

I have booked flights for next May, £549pp (economy of course) direct with Virgin from Manchester, the same dates from London are £748pp. They have a choice of dates (only looked in April/May) so maybe of some use to those that go from Man.

I also found it cheaper on Netflights so submitted a price promise to Virgin and they are refunding the difference. It's only £50 but that allows me to book seats in the bubble 'free' :)

I know some don't like Virgin but the flight from Manchester this year was great. We were in the bubble so lovely and quiet and v good service, didn't run out of alcohol!

the bubble is upstairs. There are economy and premium economy. Upper classis downstairs at the front ;)

I think they mean the £50 cashback paid for the "extra" seat fee to sit upstairs ;)

Well, we are at Green Valley Ranch! 330am now and I've been awake for about an hour. Wonder if I'll get back to sleep! Hope so. Dreaded jetlag.

When we arrived last night we picked up a car from Alamo at the airport. The guy was determined to get more money out of me. He said we'd have a smart car with no trunk, and did we have luggage. Then it was these cars aren't suitable for Las Vegas you need air conditioning. So he was saying $13 a day but he'd give me it for $11! That works out close to what I paid in the first place so hardly worth it to get a focus or equivalent. I guess he knew they were short of economy cars! He said it would be a Fiat 500! He also went on about how we were liable for repairs to the car. Anyway, I went with what Pebbles suggested, went up to see what was there. There was a Fiat 500, a Nissan Versa, and a Hyundai something (about size of focus). So we have took that. Another couple of cars came into that row when we were waiting. Nothing terribly interesting.

Has been a while since we've had that sort of upsell game going on...I wonder if Dollar have us on file when we collect and know we're previous customers and don't bother trying it. All down to getting an upselling agent at the desk I suppose, just your luck. The car has 27k miles and the uphostry is a bit tatty. Pebbles, looks like you were a lot luckier than us at Alamo (or maybe it was a $20 trick).

Thanks for reminding me about this. I just got ours for next year. £531 pp. Looked for the Netflights price change but they were the same. Still, £531 direct is a great price.

We were thinking of doing Dublin next year, but it's not worth it for the few pounds we will save. Trip No 26 coming up in Oct, Trip No 27 booked for next year. WooHoo!!!
