thanks very much for the trip report winter jasmine, its always lovely to read other peoples experinces n what not and to try see if there is anytihng people do that we have not considered and should consider for next time!
Im guessing you flew with virgin atlantic. prehaps premuim economy?(if it is not too rude to ask)

I ve seen social rewards mentioned and have not gotten around to doing it, is it easy to do? are the rewards each to reach?redeeming them okay/easy?

We, like stuie it seems we like it hot, when we went in june it reached 107, being scottish we consider hot in the 80's!!

As for your holiday money, what a great price you got !!

May i ask how the tesco clubcard work in regards flights?
I know my mum has a tesco club card and the only thing i know you can get is money off petrol !, so any info most welcomed please!
thanks again for writing your trip report, its always nice seeing vegas from someones else viewpoint !:D

The rest of our points were put towards the meal I've been looking forward to for over 12 years...The STERLING BRUNCH!! Oh my goodness, it was really lovely; impeccable service and a wonderful atmosphere. I have no clue how much champagne we drank but it was A LOT, they really don't like letting your glass drop below half full! The signature omelette was delicious, as was the filet Benedict. DH was particularly impressed with the fist sized shrimp! My only regret is that I filled up too fast (this was before I'd perfected my buffet strategy!). Due to the points we had, we only paid about $25 out of pocket for the meal - even with the tip added (around $35) it was still an absolute bargain. Ferf - I think you've been toying with the idea of going? I think it's definitely worth it; DH is harder to impress than me - he can't stand eating in subdued lighting so he didn't like that but otherwise he really enjoyed the food too. I'd love to go back but probably not for a couple of trips.

Thank you - yes, I have also been toying with it for years but it seems so expensive and neither of us are big champagne people. I have also been a bit bad about Social Rewards for the last few months...I am not sure if our next trip in October will be the right time (bringing the in-laws and already have a lot planned)..but maybe we will mentally pencil it in for first trip next year and start trying to accumulate enough Social Rewards credits to make it less painful, price-wise.

Great trip report - really enjoyed it. It has been many years since we stayed at Excalibur but when we did, it was absolutely fine for us.

also - we looked at flights for March today, coming back on Good Friday, and we were surprised at the prices, they were not at all insane as we thought they might be.

Food - First night we got a Pizza from The Secret Pizza Place at Cosmopolitan to take back to the hotel, it was very good.

I swear we looked for this place and couldn't find it...at least, the only pizza place we could find was maybe not the sort of pizzas we were that interested in...I think it was a proper Italian restaurant and not specifically pizza, and did not seem in any way secret.

Can I know the secret, please?

Up to where the restaurants are, and the seats and pool table.....

    See this link

    Level three.

The un-named unit between Jaleo and Blue Ribbon.

It just looks like a corridor until you are inside.

Martmonk is right. It's on the 3rd Floor, as you go up the escalator there is a corridor in front of you slightly to the left. I would have no idea it was there if I hadn't read about it before we went.

Couple of questions for anyone that can help.
I am an elvis fan.....sorry,can't help it,have been since I was a little kid.
Anyway,we are thinking of going to the westgate to view his exhibition this next trip...so question one....can we purchase the monorail options on myvegas rewards "on top" of our 3 MGM rewards...think I read somewhere that monorail redemptions don't count as one of your three.

Question two...if we do get a BOGOF reward for the monorail...how does that work ?......I assume you have to visit a ticket office or something to redeem,as you obviously can't just use the machines.

You're right that the monorail rewards do not count toward your 3 and yes, you take the voucher to the ticket booth.

We did the BOGOF for several days option once, we were staying at Bally's so figured we would use it enough to justify the cost. For us, it wasn't worth it as we did not use it enough, we would have been better with a short-term option.

We used the bogo to go to SLS. If you show your monorail receipt they give you $5 extra free play. You could do that after seeing the exhibition at Westgate.
