  • I tried to start the whole bill and spends thing but it got too much. Also I found it impossible to account for Mrs SJ's spending. Overall she's disciplined and controlled but not to the extreme obsessiveness as me! So I don't want to cause any fights!!
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......
  • We each have a personal spends value every month each which are fairly generous but we include food, clothes, entertainment in this.

Food we take out of bank and put in a pot on personal spends payday. We also make OPs from ps where we can. Last month was £230 from personal spends and so far £100 this month from ps on OP's.

If we overspend on our ps we just don't have any personal money it's as simple as that. Things just have to wait. This month has been tight on ps due to new school clothes for Miniocc and Asia shopping but with £20 to spare for the next week I'll make it.

The bills are another matter, not organised that well and often I will switch x amount to savings/shares/FC and it be a bit too much. I tend to do things like this on the spare of the moment which I need to stop. I'm not super displined with cash savings so I like to have extras squirreled away where it's a bit difficult to get to and forget about it! In fact a revisit to a soa might be in order.

    Sorry I'm repeating myself!

And I also forgot to mention £95.99 paid from TCB to mortgage, rounded up by £4.01 from bills account :)
  • Today was a NSD yay!

Went on day 2 of my course, it was extremely interesting. It's such a lot to take in. It's very draining. Work is still very busy I just hope that these customers pay up quickly!

Had another £4 payout from TCB which is 2 £2 loyalty rewards. I'm going to be doing well from cashback this month. £100 so far and Hopefully more will be ready to pay out soon.

  • I have had payout from our summer Hotel bookings just lately. I use cashback for everything I get, bank accounts, credit cards, house purchases.

I always check i am getting the best price first then go through who's giving the best cashback. It's just remembering to do it.

My cashback accounts pay out straight to the mortgage account and then round it up.

I don't really have any side hussles so I see cashback as a way I can increase my income :) I look for all opportunities to either pay less or get money back on all purchases.
  • Today wasn't a NSD :( needed a treat this morning so a coffee and a cake was purchased on way to work. Best part of £5 spent but it was lovely :). Shame that's a quarter of my personal spends for the next week!!!

Looks like One of my FC loans is going to default. Due to my diversification I only have about £14 with this company.

    3rd attempt at a post!!!

BF treated us to takeaway as Miniocc occ had a school disco and as it was 'doing something nice' day yesterday I offered to drop one of his mates off who's mum was carless. They argued the whole way home! I managed to get an hours worth of reading done for my course. I spent £5 of my personal spends on a bottle of wine. We've had a few bottles this week must be getting busy at work!!!

Miniocc went to school dressed as his sporting hero John Ruddy so dressed in his bright green goalie kit. Your couldn't miss him that's for sure. In other school news they've moved Miniocc straight up to gold books after reading a couple of the purples. The gold one is just the right level for his ability but was surprised that this was the higher end of the levels for year two considering the teachers consistently tell me he's a bit behind for his age (said in so many words, in a nice way of course!) this week we have been learning adding two digit numbers using a number line at home, at school they are doing 2d shapes which he finds very easy.

Personal spends left til payday is still hanging in there at £17  Took hounds to vet yesterday for boosters but nothing more to pay which was a surprise. I was expecting to pay a bit more on cc for this so pleased not to have to use cc.

In money news My cashback payments have not landed in mortgage account yet but should be there early next week. Shares and s&s isa have dropped a bit. FC payment is still processing so not holding out any hope on that.
  • Today, I'm feeling very sad about the goings on in France. Very, very sad.

Today I've been at work and then afterwards went to cinema with BF and Miniocc. Hotel Transylvania 2. It's a classic. BF paid :)

Spent £1 on milk today. So I'm down to £16.
