That's nuts! I liked cycling to work but not in weather like the past few days have been. Bad enough driving in it when you've got large headlights and your vehicle is large - could not imagine cycling in this sort of fog.

It's been very foggy here too, didn't lift during the day. Welcome to winter. ;)

  • Oh my, is this jetlag ever going to end this time. Asleep at 9.30 ish, awake at 11.30. Just going to tire my eyes out and try to get back to sleep.

starting my counselling course today. Am excited/nervous. Was at a KS1maths course at minioccs school today, with muzzy jetlagged head. We had to do actual sums they do in Y5 and 6. Not good on no sleep. Couldn't think about long multiplication at all!

In MSE news it's been a bit of a non event today. A few savings shuffled around. £50 has gone to s&s ISA, £250 to regular saver, usual monthly £100 to Miniocc, £25 to save together. few £ back from funding circle. Started to sort out the BFs paperwork so purchased some new folders.

In money spending news Miniocc fell playing football and that was the end of the knees on one pair of school trousers. 2 replacements brought from next. About £20! Also had to buy more clothes for him the weekend as he's growing like a weed. I've noticed he's starting to fill out too, as he's not been at school for 2 weeks I've noticed he's at least an inch taller than all of his mates again now and bigger build (although still not a gram of fat, lucky devil!) it made me laugh on holiday as for a treat we went to the Hard Rock Cafe in bangkok (I know, I know but Miniocc was fed up of noodles!) and the waiter really didn't want to give me the kids menu for Miniocc as it was only for 10's and under. I literally had to have s mini argument with him to convince him he was only 7! Miniocc was very pleased though as it's the second time recently a person has thought he was 10!

Sounds like your little one has had a great time, shame you couldn't enjoy Asia as much as you were working though! Just a thought having read about his reading difficulties, reminds me of Irlens Syndrome, a person I know with it has a coloured piece of paper (think it's yellow) and this makes it much easier for them to read! Depending on the person different colour overlays can be helpful! Though it could also just be he is young!

I am definately going to look into FC again, seems like a good idea from your posts! Your still doing an amazing job with your OPs!

Having had a quick read up on Irlens that sounds exactly what the optometrist said miniOCC had trouble with. Will read up in it a bit more. Thanks for that and the encouragement.

still suffering with jet lag. It's going on and on. Tonight I'm feeling exhausted again. Fell asleep early and woke up at 11.30 last night dreaming that BF was being tortured and I had to save him (analyse that one!) fell back asleep a couple of hours later. Heading for another early night tonight.

No mse news today. Had to buy miniOCC some school uniform. 2 jumpers and a pe bag £22. That's a lot total of £50 now spent on uniform this year. Still good in my opinion. No shoes required yet, must have timed the last shoe purchase perfectly for once. Everything else is growing daily but the feet stay the same :)

In other news I started my counselling course today. Very interesting. I'm currently studying person centred counselling but going to look at CBT too for my post grad course.
  • £95.99 became payable in TCB Today :) so I've requested that go straight to the mortgage :) this added to the payments I've made and the regular OP nearly takes me to my monthly target I've set myself for this month. Will update sig when it lands in mortgage account:)

I've managed to lock myself out of cc website. Will need to call them tomorrow to reset! Annoying!

Starting to recover from the jet-lag finally a week after getting back

  • Thanks LIL

today is working out strangely. Football cancelled due to weather so did homework first thing and some extra handwriting practice and colouring. Went shopping spent about £65 which is ALOT for us but needed lots of stuff and also got 3 books, a pair of gloves and batteries in this which was probably about £10 of it. It does leave our food budget for next week about £15!!! That's not gonna happen!

After returning Miniocc did a Lego set he got for birthday all on his own. Very impressed. I've cleared up, done 2 loads of washing and made a loaf. I've read a few pages for my course too but keep getting distracted as this house is never quiet!

Going out for tea tonight to Frankie and bennies, never been there before. then to the fireworks in the village £12

All in all a spendy day

Sounds like a nice day. :)

Hope the fireworks were good. We've been to see a display this evening too, son really enjoyed it, though I must admit I thought it was very mediocre (wasn't the one we usually go to).

Fireworks were fab ;) Met loads of miniocc school friends there and they had a right jolly old time :)

I'm going to be in BIG trouble with Miniocc tomorrow when he finds out he was asked to play for under 8's in the football (he's in under 7's team) but I left my phone at home and missed the message. I've decided not to mention it today and passed on BFs and home phone number for future, hopefully the other kids in school in the team will have forgotten by tomorrow or he won't see them as they are in next class up!

Today I have listed 12 items on eBay. If you read my diary on a regular basis you will know this is a major thing got me!

I've also started washing the curtains around the house as they all need a wash. There are currently 14 sets of curtains up in the house (some are down in rooms being renovated). I'm going to try and do the upstairs this week.

We have a really busy week at work with our manager off on holidays, BF has appointments with customers 4 days and I have a course two mornings. Hope the staff are good this week as we need them :)

I am now skint on personal spends until 17th. I have no plans though so it will be fine :)

Now off to have a starwars epic watching session with Miniocc:)
