Busy day at work today and we all went for a quick trip to a cafe for some egg and chips for tea!
I haven't been really motivated on the money saving front but did write a quick blog post about a voucher code site I've found where tge codes usually actually work! http://stretchyourpennies.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/my-new-fave-voucher-site.html
It's been an exciting footie day as our beloved Norwich are playing our most hated rivals Ipswich the play offs.0 -
Made some cakes that came out beautifully so wrote up recipe as I made it today on the blog.
Made a loaf in the breadmaker.
Got out the train set today and the scalextrix which resulted in a frustrating few hours getting mini vehicles to go on mini tracks!0 -

Today I
Went to car boot sale spent £0
Took dogs a walk £0
Gardening £0
Tidied away about half the toys scattered around the house £0
Watching snooker final £0
Did some washing, heated the water tank and put on dishwasher on solar £0
Personal NSD, BF spent about £10 so not too bad for a bank holiday.
I have written 2 blog posts that are in draft format waiting til I add a couple of pictures to them. I am starting to get my money Saving mojo back slowly!
Froze all the left over veg from yesterday's Sunday lunch so we can use them in the week. Also froze a couple of cakes I made yesterday to see how well they freeze.
Just a note that we had a Aldi dopiaza jar, the one with the spices on the top for tea on Friday and it was totally delish. I'd really recommend it.
Looking forward to a 4 day week this week
Edited as the tooth fairy is going to be visiting tonight now so not a NSD after all0 -
I'm on a roll now, getting more motivated and have checked my account every day for a few days now!
Tidied up the huge pile of shoes in our hall this morning.
Made a loaf of bread
Now watching the Enfield haunting on catch up, 5 minutes in and looks really spooky!0 -
Ordered some heating oil, haggled and got £40 off the quoted price I've never done that before!
Deposit paid for band and village hall paid for BF's 50th party.
Took son to polling station to teach him about voting. He enjoyed posting my vote and got the whole process explained to him by he people there! He's only 6 so I'd say 99.9% went over his head!
Didn't go for renewal on pet insurance and got it half the renewal price with legal and general :-). Annual saving about £200 on renewal quote and appoint £100 on last year.
Nothing else much going on today but looking forward to weekend off work but still very busy! 2 Kids birthday parties, football training for son, play off first leg to watch, and squash comp for son who currently says he doesn't want to go (which in all honesty I don't mind!) have made all the purchases required for weekend but need to get a couple of kids cards as haven't hot time to make them0 -
Whew what a weekend!
Saturday Last football For a month for little one, gymnastics party then pizza express. Straight to bed!
Today used our season pass to the zoo then off to a free fun day on the broads with the norfolk wildlife trust. Dike dipping, reed cutting, picking bones out of owl pellets, made. Bird feeder. Went to a cafe for tea and ice creams. Total cost of day less than £30
I've updated my Sigs as I've had some returns from funding circle, no OP made yet this month as I've paid about £200 to the party this month so will leave til the end of tge month to see what OP I can afford. Should improve on the last few months.
I've managed to regain my money saving mojo and have added a couple of posts to my blog. I'm getting 60 views of every post now which is fantastic and some retweets on Twitter. I've listed it on a few bloggers sites which is getting a bit of traffic to it. I've gotta write a post on my pallet love in, oh I'm in love with things made out of pallets! I must look wierd when I stop and take photos of them!
Ps heating turned off this week, it's a bit nippy but another jumper has gone on!0 -
Nothing to declare on the MFW front, but I've updated the finding circle figures and next month will have another £20 in the kitty to reinvest :-)
Shuffled a bit of money around my accounts today and started an online Halifax application but i couldn't finish it on the iPad. How annoying. I'm planning on adding this to the money shuffle to add another £5 per month to the OP.0 -
Nothing much done today on the MFW front. BF purchased a very decent second hand bike for getting about. He's listed old iPhone on ebay to offset some of cost rest is out of his savings.
NSD for me, I've done a bit of Bill organising at home getting some very old ones that I don't want to burn filed away. (I know it sounds wierd but I burn my old paperwork in a garden incinerator instead of shredding it as it saves loads of time)
Prompted by my organising I wrote a blog post on bank account rewards I make he most of. Since sorting the paperwork I have been using several accounts and getting the rewards from each one. I'm adding in one at a time, let me know of your good ones that I might have missed. I love money for nothing.
Need to consider next move on the house, gutters I think as they seriously overflow / leak in heavy rain. Prob is its half cast iron half plastic and I can't decide if I should repair cast iron and redo rest in cast iron to march or just renew the lot with plastic.0 -
It's actually quite cold in the house now, seriously thinking about popping the heating back on. Heating on in May is C R A Z Y. But my house was 16 degrees yesterday evening and that was a little uncomfortable with a jumper on. Usually have heating set at 18/19 which is pleasant.
Anyone know when springs coming back?0
