It's a great help thanks, we only need Europe too but I was also trying to compare length of stays because if our plans come to fruition (a BIG if some days) we will need more then 31 days cover per trap. I think that may have also factored in the price....and age!!!!! I will take a look now.

    Thanks again

  • Jealous! Are these off amzreviews?

Yes paid £1 each towards them so loads of tea for £9 spends. They are really nice, I applied for and got them all so was really lucky :)

Really good travel insurance price, we get it through work so £0 to us personally :)

Very nice. :) I've gotten a few things off them which have been good, but nothing overly "treat"-y yet.
  • very nice day, took mini into the bank today to put in the £30 that he has saved up. Then went to my friends for the afternoon who I hadn't seen in a while. no spends at all today.

Had a good chat with friends about minis psych ed assessment, her son has some issues so she was a good person to chat to.

Tomorrow is usual footie / dance combo, then into work for a couple of hours later on.

Sorry Alex you misunderstand me, actually I explain it terribly. You need 3 accounts (at least) one which all income goes into and all bills/savings come out of. Then what's left after everything's paid (fun money) gets split equally for you 2 to do as you wish with in 2 separate accounts.

I understand. :) To be honest, had I £525 put into an account for "fun money", I'd probably save the vast majority. :) Must be learning something from MSE. ;)
Once again I don't want to offend but your relationship seems very old fashioned with one 'breadwinner' calling the shots. It sounds very much how my BF describes his family from the 1960's although it was his dad calling the shots. Ultimately he does not have a great deal of respect for his dad (his mum had agoraphobia at the time) and particularly remembers when money was tighter and his dad was always doing what he wanted.

Once again don't mean to offend but your wife is being incredibly selfish on this from I know you think she holds all the cards now but it really isn't nice to use them. I also know that you have been bad with money in the past but this is money for non essentials so if it's wasted it's wasted. Ultimately I personally think you would put it to better use than her!
I agree completely, Alex appears to be aware of it.

I am aware of it. Not really sure how I could change it and still have a marriage, to be honest. She does as she wishes, no real regard for anyone else.

She does hold all the cards. If she were to leave like she often threatens, she could take my son with her and I'd need to ask my parents to buy the house should I wish to stay as I wouldn't be able to get another mortgage nor pay for it without my parents allowing me to take a higher salary. Therefore, I don't really regard the place I live as "home".

Can't say I want my son to have a similar relationship when he grows up. However, in some respects I know I'm lucky; she puts up with me, my wife and I have similar interests and I still find her attractive after almost 10 years of marriage.
I know you are going to come into lots of money later in life, perhaps a meagre pittance of fun money for her then might be in order to restore the status quo (joking of course, or am I)

Sorry for rant and don't be offended, I don't know your wife (obviously) but from what you describe here over the last few days it seems very self centred even bullying.

    I wouldn't do that. :)

She doesn't see self centred as a negative trait, OOC.

    All sounds excellent. :)

My son and I went to the library today to get some books then we went for a walk before going to my cousin's. So my day has also been spend free. Not a chance Mrs K has also had a NSD, she's still out with her work colleagues. Anyway, my cousin gave my son £20 for helping her on the land and with the horses. He had enjoyed himself and worked hard. As a rule we don't give him money but my cousin didn't realise this. I gave him an option to spend the money on whatever he wanted but he'd get no extra to spend from me or to save the money (explained he could one day buy something better and earn money through interest etc.). He chose to save it :D ... towards a horse of his own.

Run away, Alex! ;) I saved my money for a horse of my own and got her at 17 (part my money, part birthday present). I worked off most of the cost of her care, but my parents still spend quite a good chunk of money on my [STRIKE]habit[/STRIKE] addiction. (I also spent far too much money on it as an adult.)

It's the thing I'm looking forward to getting into most when we're MF, actually...though being horse-free has helped greatly in the MF journey, I will admit.
  • Good day today. Football training in the rain for mini, didn't want to go to dance, think he's gone off it. £3 spent plus £1 for a coffee. He injured ankle at football so will have to see how it is for tomorrow.

It's been raining all day here so a day in. Tomorrow will be better so will go out for the afternoon :)

Nothing to report moneywise. Am about half way through reviewing the tea :)
  • Just popping in to say Hi :hello:
Found your blog too and bookmarked it :) One thing I am not doing at the moment is making the most of our current account, and I love your free money target. Hoping to start doing some reviews too. Did you say its am@zonreviews you use?

Will be reading your diary from the beginning for inspiration :T Good luck :)

  • Went to work, bank had to pick up takeaway as BF incapacitated (I won't go into it!) and I wasn't home til 6.30. Mini was hungry skip to the end, needed food. BF paid so :). Shame was we had lots of nice food but no time.

Brought newest member of the occ house home from work. Rodney's getting a bit old now so invested in Piper a few weeks ago and she has arrived. Currently doing her stuff downstairs. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01D9OC1UK/ref=ya_st_dp_summary) need to ensure battery fully runs out tonight to maximise the battery. Had been going almost an hour so far. Rodders retreats to his dock after about 30 minutes now poor old boy ;) in true MSE style hot for just over £50 to test. Can prob sell Rodders for parts for more than that as he is the top brand available (wouldn't afford to replace with another!)

Money shuffle starts tomorrow, thank goodness I get a fit bored money wise st this stage of month and get tempted to fiddle with it when I shouldn't!

:rotfl: If my son is interested in having a horse of his own when he's a bit older, we'll probably have to work something out. We're fortunate that we wouldn't have livery costs to consider but I know it would still be expensive.

:rotfl: Re. BF. I've been looking after Mrs K all day after her getting home very late last night.

Are the robot vacuums really any good?
