Isn't it a great feeling when its a good month all round!

It really is, there wasn't much scope for a good month either so it's a real result :)

Reduction so far this year 2274.00 / £13000 Target :)
  • I'll compare reduction figures so far this year on Sunday/Monday but think you'll have a slight lead!

woohoo, that's something! whats your reduction aim per year. Im going for abut 13000 although really 13250 to make it right for the MFIT challange! I need to get ahead as I really have to get the guttering done this summer (£3.5K) so will have to steady up on the OPS :(
  • A realistic net reduction is actually 12-12.5k, but i'm challenging myself for 13k. I know that the first 3 months of the year will be between 650 and 750 OP's, but after that we'll be more like 550-600, which will peg me back a touch. Having said that last year i was aiming for 12, but ended up with 13 so who knows!!

  • Same target then :) last year I aimed for 10000 and made it to 12000 even though I spent over 10000 on the house too of which 4000 was unplanned disasters!

I'm really hoping for 13000 but if I can get a shade over that it would be great, we have a lot planned for next year which might require a reduction in OP's temporarily so want to get ahead for the mfit challenge if poss :)

Anyhow been out just got in spent about £20 in total and won a raffle prize worth double that :) also decidedly merry so that's a bonus. In spare room so I can snore my head off!
  • Usual Saturday of football, dance then lunch. MiniOCC had first training session for sport relief mile with grandad who wants to help with his stamina. None of the other grandkids were there (also doing sport relief mile) as they don't need the training aparently! Mini had just done 3 hours of sport in the morning and is more active than the 3 other grandchildren put together. People are funny hey!

No match tomorrow so using season tickets for free day out at adventure park (will take picnic)

Anyhow a quick coffee with friend (£1.50) dance class (£5) and tea whilst grandad did the training (£3.55) makes today's spends just over £10. Didn't get time to get to Aldi but BF picked up a couple of bits needed for the weekend and will shop later in the week.

I'm thinking of next months op target, thinking £500-£600 plus whatever fit payment I get. I am adding quite a bit to cash savings every month at the moment too and there's only so much to go round.

In other news miniOCCs pension is set up! £16 per month at present with the compounding over the next 50 odd years I hope he will be able to consider retiring earlier than I will! I so wish my parents had done anything at all for me. He won't be told about it as I want it to be a bonus for him, it will be a nice surprise for him when I peg it!

good day, total spends of £5 between us on teas at the adventure park as it was flipping cold and we took cold drinks with us. Had a fantastic time but we were cold by mid afternoon so came home and watched films.

I'm almost caught up on my reviews, I have a couple of serums, a moisturiser, conditioner, a mouse mat, a bike phone holder, a dog whistle, 3 lots of packaging tape and some facial toner still to do. Today I did a bike light, some serum, some face paints, a brolly, some hair protector and some bubble bath. I do like to give them all a good test out for a good week but I have some things that I have been wanting for a while and a really good supply of toiletries now. It was fun testing the face paints as miniocc has to dress up for world book day next week (they told us friday, so much notice!) and is going to go as the cat in the hat. Will have to make the costume as its such short notice but will look okay I hope as im pretty handy with a sewing machine!

Had MH soup for tea from the freezer as still haven't had time for food shopping

Edited : forgot to say have sold 5 jars of jam and chutney this weekend so £6.50 put between the extension and the camper van fund :) They are both really slow burners LOL

Keeping up with the kids literacy this morning, Shopping finally done today and then an hour of coursework, pick up Miniocc from school and he didn't want to go to gym so we came home to make cat in the hat costume. I've got the bulk of it done now the gloves are made smaller, the white chest added onto the black top and the tail made and attached to the black joggers. Extra tall top hat fashioned and painted white drying and ready to add stripes on tomorrow. Red bow tie bought as I just couldn't make one £5 spent on now tie and £48 on shopping including 2 books for Miniocc.

I've been thinking about getting some tutoring for Miniocc for a while to see if it will help and found a KS1 TA in the village who has spaces. Am going to try for a few weeks starting this Thursday. I'm not concerned that she's not a qualified teacher as mini just really needs to go over the basics to build confidence and it too distracted at home. We do a lot of learning through playing games at home but something a bit more formal may well help.

Watching Norwich play on tv it's like pulling teeth. It's hard being a fan of a club with no money :-(

Edited first op of month £20

Good day today. Only spent £3 on Mother's Day card.

Applied for nationwide account as regular saver has matured so will be getting TCB £35 plus switching bonus/refer a friend. Should have almost £2500 will need to add in about £300 to get it to the maximum. Then I need to set up the SO to add into the money shuffle

Have arranged first tutor session for tomorrow and put money into envelopes for next 3 sessions. Have decided tutoring will come from personal spends budget too and we will create envelopes on personal spends payday. Am nervous about leaving him with a stranger. Will prob stay parked outside for the whole hour!

In other news went to see potential office, could only see part due to an attempted bread in. My oh my it's fantastic. Need to go back and look st the rest next week. Having a serious think about this one.

Had letter from mortgage company today stating effect of our built in OP's on the length of the mortgage. Currently OPing by the (almost ) £200 would leave us with an end date of 2028 do 12 years. We usually pay 2 to 3 times that in the end though.

Another op of free money from HSBC save together. I think that's the last month so I have an ISA to switch if I want to get another one which looking at the rates I prob won't. Will just leave £1 in it and decide what to do. Anyhow £35 OP'd so total for month £55 :)

No sign of fit payment yet but will be this month for sure.

Edited : guttering is dripping on the window sills very annoying. It must be done soon!also cat in hat consume finished :)
