I used to have the one you're looking at getting. Its lightweight which made doing a lot of ironing less tiring. So it is a good buy. Mine lasted 5 years before finally giving up. I now have a Braun one purchased from Asda as I wanted to check the weight of them as I have joint problems.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

i splashed out on a steam generator iron when they were half price in tesco. it is fantastic. i wouldn't use anything else now. it LITERALLY cuts your ironing time in half as you only have to iron one side.

Please help. My iron blew up last night taking the household electricity with it (thankfully now restored). Although it's up on 20 years old so probably no shame for it. Can anyone recommend a new one? I had a look there but I was bewildered by choice. Ideally would prefer not to spend more than £30 but could run to a bit more if it was something super duper.
Hope this is the right forum, you guys seem to know so much about all this stuff, please move if appropriate.0 -
I have just brought this one, which is half price at Tesco!!

Had it a week, seems ok.0 -
I know they are more money than you were planning to spend but a steam generator iron is the best thing I have ever bought. I hate ironing, but its much quicker and the finish is so much better. on the down side they are bulky too.x x x0

Do you have any Nectar points to use? When we needed an iron last year, I bought a steam generator with 3 yr cover for £52.50 but then used £40 I think of Nectar points

i looked at so many irons in the end i thought it was all to much. so thought i want a pink one to match my kitchen. saw this in morrisons ( had no price on it tho ) . it got a ceramic plate which i really wanted and it felt nice to hold. cost £29.99 which i didn't think was too bad.considering it only the 2nd iron i've had to buy since being married.
it so nice to use, just glides along clothes.i enjoy ironing , but this makes it so much more enjoyable.0 -
I've just bought a new one from Tesco, £17.50 instead of £35.00. It is a Russell Hobbs Steamglide 2200 Advanced. I have been really pleased with it so far. This is at the end of the week when my toaster, kettle and iron all packed up and my vacuum had smoke coming out of it! DebxFriday April 9th 2010 the day I become Mrs Jones!

Sorry Me again! Forgot to say, I saw a lovely Steam Generator in Sainsburys for £54.99, I think it might have had about £30 off rrp. I haven't got room to keep one anywhere, but it looked great. DebxFriday April 9th 2010 the day I become Mrs Jones!

The last time I bought an iron was one in Asda for under a fiver and it does the job. I didn't think spending more than this would greatly enrich my quality of life much and I kidded OH on that it was £28 and he believed me....
How about using an old spray bottle to get rid of creases? I put a drop of lavender in mine and its lovely.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
