Cleaner not doing hours she's paid for

I get paid for hours I don't do every day, maybe 10 hours a week, as I'm job and finish.
If work is done properly, and you crack on and get it done quicker what's the problem?
Just pull them up on the ironing.0 -
Don't people get it?!
Regardless, if she's completing ALL the cleaning in the two hours, she should be charging for two hours. Not three?! She's just been caught out.
Seriously, that's not difficult is it?!0 -

What if the same work would take others 3 hours?
She should work harder for less money?
Now that I don't get?!!
I got 11.5 hours today, did it in 9.5 - what should I do?0 -

This might seem a little sneaky but if you think she isn't doing the ironing then could you set up a computer/ laptop /video to record her whilst she is in the flat. Then you could see how long she stays and if she is just folding up the clothes. It might be she is just rubbish at ironing or infact that she really is not doing it but at least you'll know for sure when you mention it to her.0

It's not that I think she's not doing the ironing, I just think she's not very good at it.
Maybe she is just a ruthlessly efficient cleaner. I'm happy with the standard of cleaning, just not the ironing. I couldn't clean the flat as quickly as she does. I'm confident that none of my possessions have gone missing, nor any provisions from my kitchen cupboards.
My home is kept tidy which must make the cleaning easier and therefore quicker.
I've spoken with a few people today who aren't impressed with their cleaners standard, or lack of, cleaning. So I think what I'll do is reduce her hours to 2 a week (if she agrees to this) and take the ironing in-house or send it out to one of those ironing companies that collect and drop-off your clothes each week.0 -

Or you could spare two hours a week and do it yourself? save a lot of hassle?0 -
For 2 hours, do it yourself at the weekend.
I'm with the others, get the locks changed and dismiss her the same day - do not give her the opportunity to take anything in her final days.
You no longer trust this person, nothing further can be done so just find someone else you can trust.0 -
Some harsh comments here. I wonder, if an accountant said "I'll do it within three hours " and done it in two, would anyone even thought about arguing "you didn't do your job properly, you're stealing from me" . But she's a cleaner, so thats different story.0

difference being, once the accountant has done your taxes they are done.
I'm sure the cleaner could find something else to clean for the hour she is going home early.
3 hours to iron and totally clean a flat, can be done to a standard but there will always be something else she could be doing if she should finish that bit earlier one day.
This cleaner is only taking 2 hours to iron AND top and bottom a flat, that's some going.0
