Lovely pics, was just thinking about your takeaway dilemma and remember that tea time was when the baby needed feeding constantly as I had less milk by the evening because I was so tired and my eldest was getting tired and clingy. I tried som days to do something in the slow cooker as I could do this when eldest was at nursery and when I had a tiny bit of energy. Just and idea? It worked for us ( also I made 2 meals in it each time and froze the spare.
Hope Gregorys skin clears up soon

Good idea Batgirl, and something I probably will do...just as soon as I can find either of my two slow-cookers!!! I haven't brought anything back from storage for the kitchen yet as I knew I wouldn't have time to organise it all, so we've just got the bare essentials. And with a few small notable exceptions, I'm not missing anything from the dozen or so boxes that are still packed!
Greg's face is a lot less yellow today, and the Diprobase seems to be helping the dry spots a bit. He's got layers and layers of scabs on his scalp though! And he hasn't pooed for 3 days! Is that normal with breast fed babies? Can't remember Adam going that long!0 -
Personally I don't remember mine going so long without a poo. It might be worth giving him some boiled (and then cooled obviously) water in between feeds just in case he is a bit bunged up.
But it might also be something to do with the jaundice working its way out of his system. I would suggest a call to the HV if he hasn't had a poo by tomorrow.
Haven't had a chance to say congratulations either. You two boys look lovely.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

I think breast fed babies can take longer to "go" so I wouldnt worry. My eldest niece used to go every 10 days like clockwork. Sis had to ensure she didnt leave the house that day as it was a full strip and bath!:j0

I agree with this, I am sure breastfed babies are meant to poo more because it is 100% natural and easier to digest and go through his system. I would def call the Health visitor tomo and try the boiled water and fennel tea is amazing for babies digestion ( my eldest was born in Germany and every baby born in that hospital is given fennel tea as their first feed no matter what as it aids digestion ) so if you have any give it a go too. Keep us up to date.

Panic over, his bum erupted about an hour ago! 4 nappies and half a pack of wipes later, he seems a little more settled and is having a decent feed right now. Ta for that tip Chev, I did wonder about giving him a little water, but he keeps feeding so hopefully isn't getting too thirsty. Hopefully you're right about the jaundice leaving his system, he certainly looks a little less yellow today. He's piliing the weight on, I think he was 11lbs 9 when we had him at the hospital last week which is way above both average weight and average gain so there's nothing ailing in that department!
Wendy, 10 DAYS???! Wow! That would certainly be a nappy that got delegated to DH!
My boss's wife had a baby last week, 8lbs 13ozs. Ha - beat them with my 8lbs 14ozs! Am I a bit warped to get some satisfaction from that?! Perhaps something to do with my maternity leave getting nicked from me...0 -
Pleased he has pooed and you have your laptop, you'll be on here more than ever if you pop on everytime you feed the milk monster :eek:May 2015 £10 a day currently £2080

Fennel tea Batgirl?! That's possibly one of the worst sounding combinations that I've ever heard! Mind you, I wouldn't fancy drinking the other stuff that babies drink either so perhaps it would be a welcome change!
When we were at the hospital with him last week the doctors were asking about his pooing habits and we said he sometimes skipped a day (this was the first 2-day skipping!) and they said that was normal, so I suppose all babies are different. DH says he remembners Adam going a few days when he was a baby (possibly because I get him to do most of the nappies), so perhaps it's just my milk that bungs them up a bit!0 -

Yeah I thought that, we asked in english and German if our baby couldn't have it even put it in writing, said i wanted to breast feed fully and didn't want anything to hinder it so they agreed. They then took him to the nursery when he was born ( again I asked to keep him but that was a no go) went in to check him after a couple of hours and there at the bottom of his crib was a bottle of fennel tea and a dummy :mad::mad: I wasn't best pleased to say the least. But when he started with colic I did do the whole fennel tea business and have said about it to others and if you can get it down them ( thats the hard bit) it is good for bunged up babies or colicy ones.May 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -

It's working so far! I can read loads, but the posting is a bit more difficult as I'm not quite up to 80wpm with the one-handed typing yet! But practice makes perfect, so that's my excuse for being here for now!0
