Well done Panda, and I just have to ask you if you haven't already registered his birth please let his middle name be Luke or Louis, or Liam so he can still be baby GL
. Hope you have a bit more chance to chill and thats awful you are back at work already !!!!:eek:

I have a strange feeling that Pandapaws real last name starts with an 'L' so the baby is already a GL baby! Panda - was that deliberate?

Thanks everyone!!! Brought a tear to my eye (again!) reading all the lovely messages.
Got the camera dock up, so just need to find the camera and pics will hopefully be on the way! He's a typical baby - looks like a squashed old man! Adoreable though, and much, much easier and nicer natured than DS (who's called Adam, otherwise I'll be getting my DS's confused!) was as a baby!
Batgirl, baby GL is already GL with our surname! Quite appropriate really, since I spent most of my pregnancy playing dreadful-bingo!
My work aren't forcing me to come back, but they don't pay any maternity pay over the Govt minimum, which is 6 weeks at 90% of pay and then peanuts for the remaining 9 months or so - about £60 a week after tax, which isn't exactly going to pay our mortgage, so time off was never an option. What peed me off was that I worked all the way through pregnancy and struggled up the stairs with the SPD up to the last to keep things running, and when I did go off sick in the last few weeks when I wasn't allowed to do anything anyway because of regulations, they started my maternity leave there and then, thereby taking 4 out of my 6 weeks off me. All legal, just totally crap. But to be honest, I'm quite enjoying getting out the house and because we now live 2 mins away I'm home loads and it's all working really well.
Oh flip, he's screaming again. No rest for the wicked! Will go do the upper-body strip and hopefully come back with the photos later (of baby, I might add, not my boobs!).0 -
Congratulations!!
I had a feeling you might end up doing baby and house move both on the same day! And back at work already??? Blimey, I don't think I left the house without another adult with me for the first six weeks!
Can't wait to see the baby photos.
And yes, 16oz in a lb - this used to confuse me too. He was a good weight though, how big is he now?0 -
Sorry to bore anyone who's not into babies, but here's the Panda-album so far...
Here's Greg, just a few minutes old. The big red blotches disappeared quite quickly!
His first outing...excitingly it was to Tesco as we couldn't find any bog roll in the house move!
So far, Adam (3-and-a-quarter) seems quite happy with his baby brother but not so keen on him when he starts screaming!
Here's one of my 'Dylon' specials - this snowsuit was washed out light blue/grey before I dyed it!
And here's the little man a few days ago, 2 weeks old. Note the huge dimple on the chin! Bum-chin we call him, Adam calls him 'Grog'!
Sorry, couldn't get the photos to resize - brain still only functioning at about 15% of normal capacity! Hope I haven't bored you all silly with these.
He had a bit of jaundice at first (and still does slightly) but it doesn't seem to have done him any harm. He's now bright red and covered in little white spots that I'm dying to pop, but apparently they're milk spots or something so I'll have to resist!
Choca, I wouldn't have left the house either if I hadn't been forced to! He lost a few ozs the first few days, but when he was weighed on Tuesday he'd porked it right on at 9lbs 5. He's skinny but really long and in 3-6 months babygros already as the legs are too short on the 0-3! So much for all my hard work washing and dyeing them all for him - need to do the next batch now!0 -
nothing to say but aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! so cute!0

Awww PP he's gorgeous, in fact they are both gorgeous. Well done you.0

bum chin  I hope that nickname doesn't stay with him, otherwise you may have a child with a grudge before too long!!!
Congrats to you all, and I hope things are settling down nicely with the new house/family/back to work and all that jazzSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
