Well, I certainly hope so, or I'll be suicidal!!!0 -
Blimey PP, you managed to get all that listing done at the same time as feeling poorly - my hat goes off to you! I have not listed anything this week, but will be doing loads in the next few days hopefully!
I have no knowledge of travel systems I'm afraid, because I had an old fashioned coach built silver cross pram for both mine!! It wouldn't fit in the car or anything, so I walked everywhere with a strange air of superiority with my HUGE pram!!!!!
I hope you are soon feeling better very soon xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I had one of those old fashioned prams for my twins, it was fab, they would always fall asleep as soon as we got moving so I used to walk for hours and hours every day.
At one point I road-tested eight of those all-terrain pushchair things for a magazine article. I found them not a patch on the basic McLaren buggy - far less manoeuvrable and hard to get in and out of doorways etc. Also heavy! As our walk home form school involves coming down a steep slippery path, a heavy pushchair is terrifying.
Anyway pandapaws, I'm sure you didn't want an essay on 'buggies I have known'! Especially as I can't help with your actual question. sorry!Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Not really - I did most of it while I was at work, and it's just a few high value items that were very similar rather than loads of listing, so a bit of a cheat really! But it does make me feel better to have actually done it, and it's dead exciting watching the auctions - I'd forgotton how much fun auctions can be if you've got good stuff listed!
I love the big old fashioned prams, but sadly just not an option as they're so unpractical (impractical?) and expensive. Seaxwyn, you're right about some of the new big prams/buggies, I just can't see the point in pushing something double the size of a shopping trolley around, and I always laugh at the 'all-terrain' ones - they might as well say 'Kensington High Street terrain' on them! First time round, we had a fairly hefty M&P travel system, and hardly used it just because I couldn't be bothered getting it all set up properly - I think that's why I sold it ASAP, even though it was a lovely set. I like the cheapy one in Mothercare at the moment for that reason - it's quite small, not much bigger than a McLaren style buggy but a bit more padded, and not much dearer than just buying the car seat on its own - we just need to be able to push the darned thing without suffering spinal injuries!0 -
Phew, glad we're back on again! Had a full shift at work today and had absolutely nothing to do with no MSE!
But I did spend the time productively and sourced a discount code for Mothercare, so bought the super-cheap, MSE-tastic travel system. It was reduced from £159.99 to £139.99, but you've got to pay a fiver for delivery if order is under £150. So I made it up with breast pads and maternity towels (nothing like really treating yourself!), to £154, then got 10% off with the dodgy code, and did the whole thing through Quidco for (hopefully) another 8%. So all-in, less the 'treats' which I'd have had to buy anyway at some point, it should cost just £113-odds including delivery, for a £160 travel system (which is probably cheap and schneidy but I love it even more for that fact, especially as to buy the car seat & base alone from this set would cost £110, therefore the pushchair, raincover, changing bag and cosytoes have cost £3. Depending on how you calculate it!).
My Ebay auctions are up to £438 with over a week to go on most of them, so that's looking fantastic. A lot of it is high-value stuff, but pleased with the total so far anyway. Been selling loads of shop inventory stuff as well, probably because of the extra publicity from the auctions, so that's good too!
Sis-in-law is selling a Sony 32" Tv on Ebay, which has only a day to go and still at 99p, so I'm thinking about bidding on that and giving it to DS for Xmas, and then selling the one that we already have for his Xmas - it cost us £150, and I've an identical one listed at the moment with bids for over £200 (because they messed up when I ordered and sent me 2 - yippee!). He doesn't need HD/Freeview and all that, so won't know the difference anyway!0 -

Panda paws,, welcome,, I only joined yesterday..... you seem very organised with your way forward, well done. I haven't posted my SOA as I feel we have looked it over time and time again and can see no way to improve it. We are also in the process of swopping credit cards for the 0% bit. (while we can) Good luck....best wishes0
