I have sod all in the way of veg other then onions, carrots, parsnips, cabbage and sprouts ( all in the garden)
Hence my lack of inspiration ATM lol
Sweet and sour may be a plan, I've lychees in the cupboard
I'm sorted for tonight, have shepherds pie, with the obligatory sprouts and carrots
I think I've become bored with the veg, hence my meal plans gone for a burton. I'm happy never to eat them, but I do make an effort to serve them
Might have a look in tesco tomorrow lunch and see what's on ys,,was only spinach and broccoli yesterday ( which I already had )
Don't you have a leek lurking amongst the garden veg? You could slice it thinly, fry and add to the rice?Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Evening all!
I'm doing quite well with NSD on items, however my train travel costs are through the roof even with my railcard - it feels like I'm wasting money but I have no choice!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes earlier, I had a nice day and received some lovely personal gifts from friends! A few days after my birthday, my nephew was born and he is a gorgeous! Only way to see him, however, is going via trains so all costs are adding up!
I've got a fair bot of work on in the coming weeks and I will be working on Christmas Day so hopefully that money will all be saved!
I have a few Christmas bits to buy but I've managed to regift a few things to make up my work secret santa present, and I've applied for beauty freebies throughout the year which I'll gift to others as well!
Made some flapjacks earlier from store cupboard ingredients for DH so he is happy.
Hope everyone is well and avoiding the Christmas crowds!0 -
Hi all
Returned from my annual trip with DD. Weather in Germany was very mild which seemed strange. We had a good 4 days. Tried new food and bought some items from my Christmas list. I did not buy anything to bring home for myself other than 1 Tree decoration (I have a very random tree with decorations from many countries now).
Have done decorations and now trying to do washing as I am away again Thursday.2025 Decluttering Campaign 733/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

The other day somebody mentioned, in the course of discussing the annual Christmas present expense dilemma, how she and a friend had years ago rebelled against blatant consumerism.
They have "gone virtual". Every year they send each other a picture or photograph of the most extravagant /outrageous /unsuitable gift they might buy for each other. Apparently they get more fun out of doing this than the real thing and it doesn't cost them a penny or add to their clutter of unwanted items. It probably helps that they both have a good sense of humour and it certainly allows for a wide range of ingenuity. :rotfl:0 -
Primrose I love that.
It reminders me of my husband and I may ponder around the shops and go this is the card I would have bought you, it started years ago and we've done it ever since..:money:0 -
Hello NBI crew.
I've been here for the year that the ship has been sailing and if there is a 2016 ship I will be on it.
In my previous post I remember saying that I was grateful to have not lost my mum to pneumonia last Christmas. Unfortunately, it returned and in the early hours of Monday morning just gone she passed away.
I cannot type much as my mind is fuzzy but I would like to say thank you to everyone. This particular thread has meant a lot to me and reading everyone's posts throughout it has been a great help. I still intend to stay on track by not getting caught up in the consumerist hell that Christmas has become and I will re-join you all again when I'm feeling a bit stronger. Take care x0 -
