I can remember eating cream crackers with butter and jam on and sandwiched.Great filler-up when you were out playing.I don't eat bread anymore only crispbread or crackers and I sometimes sprinkle crushed up crackers on soup, or even on top of cottage pies before browning in the oven ,gives a nice crispy /crunchy texture Cream crackers are quite underestimated I think at times and only seem to be popular around Christmas.i seem to get most of mine from my DDs who buy them at Christmas and then forget to open them :):):) Not being one to waste, it would be rude to refuse to 're-cycle 'them :):):)

I can't remember if I mentioned this but my electric bill has been reduced from £84 a month to £56 as we must have not used much power over the winter as it was so mild so that is a help.:T

I just had to order some more dietary cat food so I spent £30 but it is an essential spend.

Lynplatinum, thanks for the newspaper tip.

It seems to have warmed up a bit over here so the heating is hopefully now off until autumn.

I'm crackers about crackers. Favourite topping being butter with a very light layer of marmalade. I eat T's value multigrain crackers on their own most of the time as they have a sweetish taste and don't need anything on them.

Does anyone know if double yolked eggs are rare? Cracked open 4 eggs for dinner and 3 of them were doubles, I've never seen this many doubles before so was very surprised.

Its a lovely evening over here, its nice to have the light evenings back. My cats are taking full advantage and are both now sunbathing. I have a bottle of blood orange cider for later to try which will be my first alcoholic drink this year.

I can't remember the last time I got a double yolk egg....never mind 3 in one go! Think you've been very lucky

I've spent some of my birthday money that I got in January..I got up early and walked 3 mile to nearest Asda superstore to see if I could find catnip drops, everywhere else has stopped selling them around here.

Well not only did I find the catnip drops (bought 10 packs :rotfl:) but also bought some new jeans and 2 new tops for work.

The tops were only £5 each and are of a style I've had before and cover a multitude of sins around the waist/stomach area which Im so concious about. I've lost a lot of weight but the rolls are still there :o

I know I'm not supposed to be spending anymore this month but can I have brownie points please because I left with NO food purchases :j:j , my cat will adore me for at least 6 month and I walked all the way back home so a 6 mile trek in total!

Double yolks are quite rare but I once read an article that explained why you may get multiple double yolks in a single pack. Apparently they are usually laid by younger hens that are just starting to lay. As most hens in a flock are often a similar age they come into lay at the same time. As all eggs are graded by size all were probably a similar size (I'm guessing large) so the likelihood of multiple double yolks is increased. Not sure if this is correct but it does seem to make sense particularly when I think back to my own hens who have only laid double yolks in the early days of their lay.

Also got 5 quid discount from plusnet for staying with them for another year which brings my bill down to 21 quid a month. And as of next month I'll be 13 quid better off as one of my phones from Vodafone is coming to the end of it's contract.

    .

    I didn't know PlusNet offered a discount- I`m pretty sure I didn't get one! Must investigate.....thank you.

Bathory - I'm with you on the dreaded tops of cupboards.

As well as newspaper already mentioned when I soon get my new units I will be covering the tops with clingfilm.

We have log burner in kitchen and the mix of coal dust and grease is awful to clean so I'll just whip off the film even now and again and put new back on - so keeping tops pristine.

I feel a bit guilty tho - contributing to someone else piling stuff up ..................... help?

You can also use left over rolls of wall paper too as they can be easier to remove and replace!! If you don't have any odd rolls laying about and you love going to car boot sales you can often see rolls for sale for 20p each.

Talking of left over rolls of wallpaper. If you cut them in to sheets they are great for kids to draw on and for using for shopping lists or leaving notes for yourself. I do this with the backs of all my Christmas and Birthday cards. I never buy note books for jotting things down ever!!!

Hope you all had a good Bank Holiday!!
