    HAPPY NEW YEAR!animated-smileys-new-years-eve-039.gif

We went to the zoo on Tuesday (We are members so entry was free) but we did take the car in this time as it only cost £4 instead of £10:eek:
We took a flask of Home made cream of mushroom soup and some rolls and a flask of coffee and had a lovely day all for a total of £4 :j:j

DD had to do a three hour shift yesterday so we took her because the buses were on Sunday service and looked around the mall until she finished work, spent zilch, nothing, nada because there was nothing that we actually needed nor wanted, I feel liberated not falling into the January sales malarky :D

Looking forward to avoid giving the corporates our hard earned cash in 2015 :D
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

You shouldn't be harassed like that at work  Can't your manager tell him to clear off? (Till recently I was a manager who was good at telling people to clear off lol)

I was actually the one in charge so I told him to leave me alone. Day off tomorrow thankfully so I'm spending the day doing crafts. Anyone who has taken a look at my blog will know that crafting has helped me immensely over the past year with depression. I don't know what I would have been like without it.

I was thinking the other day about how I hoped 2015 would be my year then I realised 2014 wasn't bad. I met my favourite boyband, had a holiday in a Disney hotel and wrote my first book, all things on my *ucket list. I won't be able to do any more this year due to the no spending thing, but I still have things to do this year. The most important thing is to try to get out of the dark hole I am currently in; I want to feel more like myself again.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's a hard battle, as anyone who has or had depression will tell you, but there is a chance to battle through to the other side.

I have been cleaning and de-cluttering today and it has felt good! I am very clean and tidy anyway, but still have the need to do thorough cleans quite often, much to the amusement of my hubby and friends. I like everything to have it's place, even the items inside the cupboards and drawers - I think I have a mild obsessive compulsive disorder!

So glad I am not the only one. With so many people on here decluttering I was feeling a bit of a freak.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

Well done for sticking up for yourself! Speaking as someone with ten left thumbs, I am very impressed with your crafting skills. To say nothing of writing a book :) What sort of book is it?

Happy New Year Mateys wow it has taken me all day to catch up whilst tapping my feet in tune to the Mary Poppins songs and cooking dinner
All the Xmas decorations came down here earlyish as I like to do a thorough house clean to see the new year in it took me two days to do as I was trying to pace myself with my fibro and then on the third day I had to pop to town we kitted our DS out with a new suit for his new job and debs hams gave us a £5 gift voucher that had to be spent between 26-31 December so in I went with my blinkers on and found a lovely tin of posh biscuits and the tin is great too so just went and handed over the voucher and got free biscuits and tin and scarpered felt great ;) then on to Boots to use my points up on my night cream day cream and face wash I am 46 and have always suffered with spots since I was about 11 and have finally found the No7 range for oily skin works a treat it is so nice to look in the mirror and not see new spots appearing on a daily basis I must have spent a fortune over the years on treatments to no avail even the pills from the doctors didn't help but this No7 range is fantastic and I felt even better knowing I got these bits for free too and still have £4:91 left in points to build up again mind it took me a good few years to build up the points as I don't really wear make-up and only really use boots for the No7 stuff
I did spend £11 at Iceland as hubby loves steak and kidney puddings and so bought 2 bags of them and a joint for today's dinner but all the rest of my shopping was got for free :j:Jim was so proud of myself
Yesterday I could hardly move so spent the day watching the rest of a box set that my hubby bought me for Xmas 2013 and we can now start watching the new box set Breaking Bad that he got me for Xmas this year he also got me some Chanel No5 as I was down to my last dribble but that was it for Xmas can't see the point in wasting money on stuff just so the pile looks big, my mam & dad gave me a £25 water stones voucher and I promptly spent that on the last 2 Agatha Raisin books that I read one is not due out in paperback till April but it is bought and paid for and will be a nice surprise when it turns up the other 1 plus 2 other books I ordered turned up yesterday so I now have a pile of books to keep me busy for the whole of 2015 so no new books needed for me
When I got home my DS and I were talking about our favourite board games and realised we really missed the game Sorry so had a look in the online toy shops to see if they had it but it is not available new anymore and as I have my wins money that I usually treat myself to something with I ordered a second hand one off Amazon and it is a Disney version so looking forward to that turning up and the rest of my wins money is going to be turned into premium bonds and see if they are lucky for me
We have had a quiet day today as hubby mouth is hurting him he managed to eat some Xmas dinner even though I protested thinking it would hurt too much I over cooked the veg and he did manage to eat but then spent the next 24 hours delirious in pain even though I was doping him up with pain relief he was still away in another land and kept talking lots of gibberish none of which he remembers but he says he really enjoyed his dinner so now the pain has subsided a bit it's just a case of keeping on top of it I really feel for him as he loves food and he has a face like a little boy lost when he can't eat what he used to but as long as we keep his weight up and he eats some stuff and drinks his ensure milkshakes he is happy enough
I am so looking forward to this 2015 challenge and hopefully he will be able to totally retire asap

Congratulations to the new babies that will be coming in 2015 and everyone else who has had major achievements already I think this ship is so full of wonderful people we will all help each other out when needed and I am thoroughly enjoying reading everybody's posts already this is going to be a great year I can feel it in my bones even though I am dosed up on tramadol :rotfl: good luck everyone I think I better go and get a bath and ready for an early night ready to start the challenge for a better simpler life de cluttering starts tomorrow

Well done for sticking up for yourself! Speaking as someone with ten left thumbs, I am very impressed with your crafting skills. To say nothing of writing a book :) What sort of book is it?

It's a post-apocalyptic (dystopian) diary of the last human being alive, telling the story of how the human race was wiped out, and of her journey to try to find others. It's also interspersed with a second voice explaining exactly why the human race had to be destroyed.

Basically I decided that I wanted to do something before I turned thirty and I chose to write a book. I've never even attempted anything like that before so I set myself the task of writing 500 words a day. I guess I caught the writing bug as I now have ideas for two more books (possibly three)

The crafting thing was similar. Never did anything until about two years ago when I picked up a magazine with a free cross stitch kit on it. Now I cross stitch, papercraft and work with mixed media as well. And all from someone who hated arts and crafts at school with a passion!

    Tenth Anniversary
I thought I had posted earlier but it must have got lost in cyberspace.

I have fallen at the first hurdle and spent £30 joining Weight Watchers online for 3 months. I only intend to use it for three months for inspiration then go back to MFP .

Please don't make me walk the plank.

There is a cash back on either quid co or topcashback for around £30, so if anyone else is planning to join bare it in mind :)

  • Aside from the rent I've not spent anything, and I have also read and reviewed another book. I have to get to 101 on Goodreads, as I had already reviewed The Stand by Stephen King, before I started the task. Tonight I'm going to work on my cross stitch a bit.

What is Goodreads? I love reading and have been getting through quite a few books over the holidays so I'm intrigued :)

It's a website where you can review books, enter competitions, follow authors etc. I even got a good luck message from Karin Slaughter (ok i messaged her first)
