They clearly said they have ID cards from a different EEA country. Why do you think they'd make this thread if they didn't?

    No they don't.
No idea, I don't guess at posters' motives. Neither do I infer, I try to comment on the facts as presented.

But they won't be able to fly to Borneo on an EEA Id card, the clue being the European part of EEA, they're valid for travel within the EEA, Switzerland and some other specified countries, not worldwide, so yes, they would need a passport.

When did Ryanair start flying to Borneo (which is a vast island, divided between three countries, and has a number of airports)?

EEA ID cards are valid for domestic and European/EEA flights. All airlines. If its valid for international travel then its valid for domestic.

Drop the "clearly" if you like, but it's abundantly clear to my logical mind!

Though I don't see how assuming they have EEA ID cards from that post is any different to you assuming they're British because they're posting on a British website? I'd actually say it's less of a presumption as the only way their post would make sense is if they had them, whereas several people who are residents of other EEA countries post on here.
