Comments in red above - what a total utter nonsense you are "stating" - clearly zero experience in this so please refrain from advising on the subject.

I have lots of experience in the field and you don't know what you are talking about. As a customer you fall for the hype that dog walker tells you so don't actually know much about it and how it really works. To address each point.

    1) You need an hour between walks to pick up drop off. Therefore you can do walks 9-10, 11-12, 1-2, 3-4. In each slot you can take between 4 to 5 dogs easily (often more).

    2) Before a dog is agreed to be taken on for walks it is brought in for an induction where it can be seen that the dog will behave around other dogs. If it won't then the dog won't be taken on. Therefore there tends to be very little issues when they are out an about. Obviously they are only let of the lead when they can be trusted and they are in a large open space.

    3) It is easy money, why do people do it if its not a good way of making money? Its a job like any other which can be very lucractive and involves zero qualifications

    4) I have no interest in walking dogs for a living, I was just saying my friend has a very lucrative business running one. If you lived in the area you would almost certainly use her as she is seen as being the areas premier dog walker, she has several celebrities dogs (I won't say who but it includes a couple of Chelsea players dogs) and also runs a dog nursary where people drop off dogs for the day while they are at work. Frankly like yourself she is very weird about dogs. You would happily deal with her!

    5) Spending £700 a month on your dogs & cats is slightly obscene. There are people on this forum who really struggle to make ends meet and to be so boastful about the amount of money you spend on your pets is uncalled for!

No you do not - you have one friend who runs this type of business and get all your ideas from there.

As a customer you fall for the hype that dog walker tells you so don't actually know much about it and how it really works.

You do not have a clue. Have friends who are dog walkers, friends who run businesses as dog walkers, used several over the years and certainly have more idea than you do - in practical way.

    To address each point.

    1) You need an hour between walks to pick up drop off. Therefore you can do walks 9-10, 11-12, 1-2, 3-4. In each slot you can take between 4 to 5 dogs easily (often more).

So according to you and the above dog walker would need to start picking up dogs at 8am for the 9-10am walk and finish dropping them of at 5pm after the 3-4 walk. 8am to 5pm is 5 hours not 5 as you stated in previous posts "£200 for 5 hours work" . Add and hour for cleaning the car and you ahve a 10 hour day. Not 5 hour day. Besides what dogwalker "could do" in terms of how many walks per day and what the need for those is are 2 different stories. Owners take dogs out morning/evening. Dogwalkers normally only have 2 walks per day, around lunchtime.

I live near massive open spaces and dogs with local log walkers are free running off the lead, swimming, playing, having fun. That is the whole point. Not on the lead walking.

    3) It is easy money, why do people do it if its not a good way of making money? Its a job like any other which can be very lucractive and involves zero qualifications

I would not entrust my dog care to anyone with "zero qualifications" or experience. Neither would anyone I know.

No I would not, not after what you described. For someone who does not have a dog this may sound great. For a dog owner too many alarm bells are ringing.

    5) Spending £700 a month on your dogs & cats is slightly obscene. There are people on this forum who really struggle to make ends meet and to be so boastful about the amount of money you spend on your pets is uncalled for!

Uncalled for by whom? I work for my money and how I spend it is my choice. Aside from my own pets - I also support homeless individual people (not charities) and dog/cat shelters (not national ones and not just UK based).

Who are you to tell me what I do with my money? Took me a while to get where I am financially and what I do with my ermm hard earned cash is totally up to me dear.

    See above.

Please do not advise OP re second job, not dog walking....

Please do not advise OP re second job, not dog walking....

You do think that dog walking is a lot more difficult than it is. I suppose if you're spending £700 a month you want to feel you are using a trained expert ;)

You basically are saying the OP is incapable of dog walking? He only wants a bit extra money. 3/4 dogs a day is £40 which will be nice additional income. It's great career to fit around kfc when lots of shifts will be in the evening (so his days are free).

In addition you say you would only entrust your dog to someone with qualifications... These qualifications are described as....

"My dog walker is CRB checked, insured, has Pet First Aid Certificate, drives an adapted vehicle, is a dog behaviourist, knows how to handle dogs/groups of dogs in all situations etc etc."

So basically the only qualification you are after is a Pet First aid certificate. How long does that take to get? Maybe a half day!

Its an easy job that preys on people with more money than sense.....

you got to remeber that you will get taxed more as well.

also with your zero hour contract you might find that they will want you in when you have agreed to work at your second job. yes zero hours allows you to accept for decline work but ive heard that some peoples hours go down if they refuse to work.

also you need some down time to recuperate from your working day. you have to be careful not to burn out. burning out wont be good for you or your employment.

when i was in uni we did 35 hours a week placement and had to do assisgnments on top and we were warned to be wary of burning out and the need for down time.

Some years ago I considered getting a Betterware round. But on investigation it seemed a huge amount of hours for not a lot of money. I worked out that the chap I was shadowing was only getting about £5 p/h. If you took all the repeat visits to pick up catalogues and money. Plus the fact that you had to build up your own round from scratch, and had no way of knowing which houses were already receiving catalogues from someone else.
There is always a steady demand for reliable and honest, house cleaning services, if you are that way inclined.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
