Royal Mail theft insures bleak Christmss for grandchildren

Op I very much doubt you will get anywhere with Toys R Us...there T&C are perfectly legal. Why not take your proof of purchase to your local sorting/ collection office and explain the difficulties you are having with the email and ask them if they are able to help with regards to getting the proof requested to the correct department.0

Surely it cannot be legal if the vouchers were stopped (not possible to be used) and not refund their cost to me0 -

One of the reasons why I would never buy gift vouchers, why give the company an interest free loan?
It might not be "Christmassy" but if I am giving anyone money as a present for Christmas, or anything else, I get their bank details and transfer the money or hand them an envelope with BoE vouchers.
I would never send cash or vouchers through the post.
Of course this advice is too late for the OP.0 -

I agree, I never send anything of value thru the post anymore, my nephews get a transfer straight into their bank, not very festive but at least it arrives. MiL had her Xmas card go missing a couple of years ago, I assume cos it "felt thick" so possibly had money/voucher in it.0 -

Of course it's legal.
Toys r Us sold you the vouchers. They have their money. Why would they refund you ? They didn't post the vouchers, you did. It's the same as if you went out and lost them in the street, i really can't see why you think they should refund you ?0 -

There is no reason not to, just use common sense and use the correct posting method, Special Delivery is quite safe for vouchers and cash.
Though it is cheaper to use a bank transfer if you are sending cash.

I always send vouchers by post but in the proper way but never cash - as you say its too easy to send by transfer and very simple to do also.
OP - I think you are onto a loser here - I doubt you will even get a goodwill voucher for teh tampering of your gift to your grandkids, Im sorry to say.
And I am not a hoob.Dont rock the boat
Dont rock the boat ,baby0 -
Yeah it's a shame but you're on a hiding to nothing here.
- You send them by the wrong method (unwittingly)
- The Post Office advised Special Delivery and you didn't take that advice.
- Toys R Us have done nothing wrong so have no obligation to refund.
Unfortunately, I think you're stuffed.0 -

Regrettably Royal Mail was virtually given away to private owners lasy year so little your MP will be able to do.0
