I've found debenhams to be the best of the bunch. M&S were awful and one assistant even told me I must have an oddly shaped rib cage because she struggled to fit me. I never had that issue at Debenhams.

Debenhams not good for me. Tried to tell me I was 34C when I am (and have been for years) 34DD. Assistant couldn't understand why the bra she brought me to try on didn't fit!

M&S usually for me but I always try on before buying as different styles can fit in different ways.

Bravissimo have their own sizing system whereby they use your exact back size and add two sizes to the cup. You can go in a 32E and come out a 28FF, for example.

I think it's called vanity sizing.

It's called being correctly fitted! They don't add anything to anything, they just try you in different sizes and judge by eye (theirs) and feel (yours) until it fits.
  • Have to say last fitting with bravissimo in Belfast wasn't great - I explained that the bra I was wearing had been bought overseas but the girl based her fitting on that size making me a 34G which I wasn't even at my absolute heaviest (which was over 2 stone heavier than I am now lol). I had to point out that it didn't fit me (by a lot). She took it down one cup size and I had to keep politely insisting til we found one that fitted. My guess is that I got a Saturday person so if you go there, go during the week if at all possible.

I go to an independent little shop and won't ever go anywhere else-M&S tried to sell me a 44F bra. I refused as it was far too loose. I bought a 42E which was OK. I then got measured and turned out to be a 38G which was perfect. I've now lost weight and am a 36F. My 16 year old was in a 36D according to M&S. She's actually 32F!

  • I went to for a proper bra fitting once., but not one of the Bra's they suggested fitted. Ever since I buy good quality bra's on ebay (new), and just had to go from a 36D to a 38C.., this always seems to fit me even with the differences in manufacturer mean that the same size bra can be quite different depending on make.

I don't know, but in my day, teens used to get 'training bras' as its a bit like getting clothes for a 2 year old, they need new ones frequently. At this stage in her life, drop isn't going to be a problem if she's not properly supported.

John Lewis are good. Been several times recently & seen three different assistants who've all been very helpful and have checked the fit of different styles and brands for me. Much more comfortable now!!

We have an independent ladies shop who also do bra fitting. They are absolutely brilliant and I always come out with correctly fitting bras. There was one time I was disgruntled, not their fault but I had been on a diet and although my back size had decreased massively, my blooming actual boobs hadn't that much.....I had a more impressive bra size than Jordan, I'd gone from a 44DD to a 32GG!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
