Bra fitting

I had a bra fitting at Debenhams and they told me I was a G cup. I thought I'd been buying the wrong sized bras for all these years but when I got the bras home and tried to wear them there was no way I was a G as the underwire was under my armpit and I went straight back to a D cup.
I will stick to my own judgement from now on as to whether a bra fits me.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Have you seen the Sky short films - usually one at this time of year, in which celebrities re-enact a moment from their childhood, and usually appear in a little cameo (the films themselves are only about 15 mins).
Barbara Windsor's was about her first bra fitting, and was both funny & sweet.
M&S or independent a very good start.0 -

Little Crackers.
I love them. I think I have seen all of them. My faves are Sheridan Smith, Alison Steadman, Joanna Lumley, Bill Bailey, Stephen Fry, and Jason Manford. But they are all good.

I also liked the Black Mirror short drama plays that were on the last few Christmases too. Drama thrillers with a twist.(•_•)

My daughter is 14 and gets her bras from Primark, she has quite small boobs but needs a 34C from Primark due to their sizing. There's no way she is a true 34C !!
I go to Bravissimo for mine and wouldn't hesitate to take her there if she needed to be fitted for a bra.0 -

I don't see a problem (other than perhaps finances) with going to Rigby and Peller if it's close to where OP lives.
I'd applaud OP for wanting her daughter to get the best possible advice and start as she should go on in her adult life.
I think it's important to start them off with good advice about buying clothes, good make up and removal, regular haircuts, looking after your nails, decent shoes etc etc0 -
I love Rigby and Peller bras but I'm in my 40s. I can't recall ever seeing anything on display there which would be remotely appealing to a teenager however!0

Does your daughter want to be properly measured? I too would just explain to her how sizing works and get her to measure herself to get a rough idea.
Then go to a store she likes and take in lots of different sizes/styles into the changing room. As whatever our size every bra comes up different. The hardest thing when you first go into bras is doing up the hooks, so she may need your help but other than that let her choose what she likes. If big boobs run in the family then in years to come she may have to make more compromises in substance over style, so let her just enjoy feeling grown up and wearing fashion styles for now.
I would avoid Bravissimo/Rigby & Peller as I doubt she needs "sturdy support" at this age and would probably be mortified at the get your top off and be man handled into a bra approach they take.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Debenhams seem much better at fitting than M&S in my experience. I now go to Bravissimo for my fittings but then buy bras in Debenhams as I can't afford Bravissimo! It was a revelation to go from wearing a 34 back to a 28!Current debt: M&S £0(£2K) , Tesco £0 (£1.5K), Car loan 6K (paid off!) Barclaycard £1.5K (interest free for 18 months)0
