    Well... I have returned....

Spent a small fortune whilst on holiday (almost all of it budgetted for) so five Spend-free days out of eight.
I think that is not too bad.
    :undecided

Today was a spendy day as we had no food in the house (despite OH having spent some of the food budget whilst I was away).

    So...
    Spend-Free Days = 5/15.
    Food Budget = £52.55/£120.
    Petrol = £0/£40.

Hope everyone is doing okay so far this month. I am hoping to finish this years on a high... doubtful it will happen but fingers crossed.
    :)
    Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91
    Savings: £0/£6400

    Thanks for the recipe lilt

Coffeeandstitches I am exactly the same! But it sounds like there are several of us with the same mentalities and trying to break the same habits.

Please all come off the naughty step, my imaginary staircase is getting very full with all of you putting yourselves on there ;)

Today was SFD number 6 and LTW number 6. I did about an hour of walking so classing this as an exercise session.

Work is keeping me busy this week so not spending :)

    Howdy folks.

Had a good day, got heating that works. So glad took out British Gas cover at £10 a month and no excess. Fitted a new pump for me today free of charge. Then I had £42 back from Quidco for taking cover out. Only on month two so had my monies worth.

Come to my senses, cancelled highlights being done. Need £40 more so jumping down off naughty step.

Sfd today. Booked car for mot and essential service this week. Now I realise that I need to budget better in the new year.

Tomorrow day off food shop veg in lidls and got Sainsburys home delivery as I got £6 voucher in post.

I too had my car serviced, 2 New tyres and its MOT last Thursday and for the first time ever I paid the £345 in cash that had been budgeted for throughout the year. I am so proud of myself, it's a real achievement for me. I have budgeted for everything this year and its such a relief to pay for things cash instead of on the card. Oh and I have got rid if the CC and OD this year as well, just have to get food spending under control now and that will be a challenge for me.

    Anyway off to bed

NannyG my role model for next year. Going to hide my credit cards, need a back up as I have no savings so can't destroy them.

  • Hey everyone, just checking in before bed.

Was wondering if when we fall off the wagon (food, money, whatever!) and say 'tomorrow's another day' we might fall further in order to make the most of it before sunrise (like getting all your other spending done at the same time once a day isn't an NSD anymore!) So maybe a shorter turning point than tomorrow would help, like after lunch/tea/5.52pm, I will start again being good and not beat myself up about the bad?

Spends for me today as I met my coaching group in a cafe so bought a tea, and grabbed a loaf of bread on the way home - whilst I'm off the NSD wagon (!) I also bought a Christmas present and if my doubled up vouchers get emailed in time, will buy another at Tesco using clubcard vouchers, which will only cost me £1!

Still not done a proper food shop - I know I'm not eating properly but I don't seem to have time at the moment with my research being manic. Night night All.

Morning all! I'm a happy naughty step bunny :D My ex worked wonders (can't believe i'm saying that) He took the arms and got it through:T It took some work though and we were both totally knackered. As he came straight from work he was starving and asked for a takeaway. I just cooked him a meal. We've only just finished everything with putting those sofas in and chucking the other ones out. It was a right carry on, but I have my sofas :j:j:j

Woo hoo traveller! Hooray to your ex! Off the naughty step and onto the sofas... Seeing as fmess's staircase is full, we may end up round at your house, in the name of 'testing' the new seating arrangement...!

Calling - so glad you have heating again! Well done on the cashback too.

CEW - sounds like a good sale, the sort of thing you see on telly! Congratulations!

Ugh, is it only Tuesday?! Have a good day!

Good day yesterday - have gone back to my trick of leaving my purse at home, like I did when paying off my debt in order to make sure I (finally) had a SFD. Finished wrapping presents and writing cards, so I'm all ready for christmas - just need to buy one more gift (the £60 out of next month's budget) and wrap the amazon order that is making it's way to me and I am done, and can avoid the shops for the next... forever, hopefully. Will be another SFD today - trying to catch up on work after being away from my desk yesterday and then a relaxing evening I think, as I'm out the next two nights.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning all,

Had a few spendy days over the weekend but still within budget I'm pleased to say. Only two weeks til my next payday now.

I'm still tracking my spending. Now on -

    Groceries: £15.45/£20.00
    Travel: £59.00/£80.00
    Entertainment/non-needs: £50.77/£73.00

I did my fortnightly volunteering at the local soup kitchen for the homeless, so a good deed there. I'm behind on NSDs, only 3/15, so will try not to spend anything til Friday now.

Have a fun and frugal day everyone :)
