  • You seem to have missed the point. Spending £40k will save someone 5mpg. Might even knock a few quid off the Tax. :)

Makes sense when you look at it that way :) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thinking of changing cars myself. Do i stick to my current thinking and spend £2k or £3k.
Or do i get something for £18k which will save me £50 a year on the tax?

Why are these decisions so hard. I mean saving £50 a year is not to be sniffed at is it?

The fact the £18k car will depreciate at least £50 a week is a moot point..

Should we expect to see further falls in the price of fuel now that the cost of oil is at a 4 year low? Hell I may even go and get a V8 :D

The absurd thing is, buying a V8 is not as crazy it sounds, as Mercedes engines shut down the cylinders in banks, so only some of the cylinders fire. So it could be even more efficient than a four cylinder Ford Focus.

    OR just run a V6 ...

that's uses 12 valves at low revs for improved fuel efficiency and greater torque ...

but enables another 12 valves at higher revs for loads more power ...

that's a Ghia X spec with all the extras and electrical bells and whistles you could hope for ...

    that runs on LPG :j

Currently costing me about 59p a litre at my local ASDA - half the price :rotfl: of unleaded

Bought for a song :D a few years (and 50,000+ miles) ago....

So much so that I've just bought another ....

all but identical - just 4 years younger and about half the mileage on my current beast ...

.... bought for even a BETTER SONG :rotfl: than the last one :D :j

I had a 5.0 V8, when I had to sell it the petrol prices went mental.
Might get another if prices keep dropping.
