If this is Scotland, when you involved PRHP - who are there to resolve landlord/tenant issues in Scotland - what did they decide??

I forgot to mention that the handyman struggled to get it attached to the wall and he reckoned it wasnt originally attached to wall correct.

This will be the problem.

I've actually had this happen to me (excluding the dented microwave and melodrama).

Whoever put the cupboard up stuck the screws into lath and plaster. It could hold cereal ok but pots and pans caused it to just fall off the wall one day. It's actually quite dangerous not to fit these things properly; overhead cupboards can be heavy.
