  • Oh,my!!Christmas shopping is nearly a profit-making exercise .
I was Christmas shopping.Had been at the mall for about 10 minutes, and found a £10 note  :j ,at the bottom of the escalator, bobbling along where the steps disappear underground.
I usually pot all my month's worth of roadkill at the end of the month, but am going to pot this tonight. The £1.58 I found yesterday, and the other £1.93 roadkill I found today I will wait til the end of the month to pot.

Evening everyone, I hope you've all been enjoying a lovely, if very busy, weekend. More great potting going on eve though Christmas is now so close. Stay tuned to saving all, it has great rewards! :xmassmile

Thank you so much for your lovely words, Lynsey, I'm all of a doodah now. :happyhear
I so hope you're right in that we can, in time, achieve that magical, yet possibly quite attainable £1000,000, we can at least all do our very best and aspire to...for our own sakes as it's not just the Grand Target it's all the great personal declarations towards it that really count and how all of us can benefit from careful budgeting, spending less and potting more! :j Even if it's by just a few pounds each per year...it'll make things far easier for everyone! :D

You've made a splendid start, LoLo, and it's so lovely to have a surprise at the end of the challenge, best wishes!

Marvellous news about your bed, Helen, I'm delighted it's so comfy! I hope you had a delicious pre-Christmas meal with the family! :)

I'm definitely getting a good deal better, thanks scotmumof3.
Opps just realised we were supposed to count up 5th November not Christmas :rotfl:
Oh well mines a but pitiful anyway as I kept raiding it for dinner money :o

I won't say too much, Skinnylatte, as I see Lynne's given you all the advice and help that I would (many thanks, Lynne!), but please, for your sake, do take the Challenge seriously, and you'll benefit so much by taking advantage of a "holding pot". Very best wishes for next November! :)
Counted up one of little mans sealed pots last night and he had £380 in £2 coins. (Not to be included in the total for SPC 7) at 19 months he managed to pot more than me. :rotfl:

That is just excellent saving for your little treasure, ETO, you really are doing him proud!!!! :T No, I honestly wouldn't have added it to the SPC as I know it's his personal savings!
    rosyq wrote:
Sue - you keep the totals in your siggy and I'll add 'em up, no problem :D

That's fantastic, Rosy! :grinheart Why I've never thought of doing so before...I've no idea. :undecided Maybe one day I would have twigged, but I don't have to worry now!! The shared lunch out with your DS & DD is a heart-warming idea and I'm so pleased you enjoyed yourselves.

Such a shame about little Lily, jakes-mum. However, IF it is a bug it's far better she gets it over with before Christmas! Get well soon, Lily! Kiddies are resilient though and she'll be up as quick as she went down, though very wise thinking about her friends, apart from which you don't know what else they just may have!!

Oh...didn't we all do brilliantly, 32b3
...and nanto3girls!! I'm ecstatic at such an amazing GT!!! :D

I have had to raid my holding pot today and now all I have left is a grand total of 66p housekeeping money and 32p money in sundries. Thank goodness there's only one day left before it is replenished. If I stay in tomorrow my holding pot will have 0.98p in it.

My sealed pot though seems very healthy and should be fed well by the end of December when I check all my budgets as I am sure that I will have an excess of income over the year.

Not to worry about your holding pot, Frogletina, at least you're doing things the right way round rather than raiding your SP and then getting downhearted and possibly giving up, which I'm sure is what happens to a good few. Hearing how you're coping makes me so proud of you; this is how a truly passionate potter operates!!!! :A Keep at it and you'll do really well through the year!

I quite agree with you, sexyshark, we're going for gold, maybe even platinum!!! :p

Thanks a lot, mcjordi, I'm getting there and hoping to be fit for Christmas...all others who may be poorly too! Here are {{{hugs}}} for you ALL!!
Hi Sue, sorry for the delay but I put my total into SCP 7. ;)

    Potted another 90p today.

No problem, moneymanager, though we would all appreciate you being more on time next year. Aside from that, as I've said on 7, with a name like yours you should be the 1st in line with your declaration on the 5th November 2015!!! ;)

You picked the right day for that bargain, Mrs Cheshire, a very festive assistant too! BTW, it's good to see more of you. :D

Oh Saver-upper, I'm so chuffed at your good fortune :j(whilst also sparing a thought for the poor soul who lost it) :( and so happy to know you've got it safe - and saved! :D

Just in case any of our family members are going away for Christmas soon.......
A very Merry Christmas, All Potters
And best wishes for a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!!! :xmastree:

    Hiya folks

Had a good day and finished all the last bits and bobs.

My, it was busy, busy, busy in the shops - haven't seen it like this for years. It really felt like Chrissie up here !!

Had some spends but it was all on the cc so no pennies for the pot so will put in £1 to the pot.

Hope you all enjoy the final run-up to the 'Big Day' and that all those feeling poorly and the littlies are all well and kicking for then.

  • Morning Everyone....

Haven't got anything to Pot but thought I would come on and say "hello" and wish everyone a happy Christmas week... :D

Sue...My bed is LUVERLY!!! But, the pre-Christmas Meal was NOT!! :( The Food was awful, the Service was appalling and it seemed to be "pick on Helen" night from my Family....so I came home feeling thoroughly depressed and tearful....went to bed....woke up around 9.30pm with a sniffly nose and sore throat...worked for a little while and then went back to bed....

Soooooooooo, I'm writing off yesterday as a bad Day and starting this Week afresh....I'm going to be full of hope....full of joy...and be grateful for the things I have - Like a nice Flat, a few different Jobs, Weekly Wages from most of those Jobs and a Family that I DO know love me, even if they sometimes don't show it....

Jakes-Mum...hope your little one is feeling better....especially in time for Christmas.... :)

32b...LoL...Yep, this time of the morning definitely exists....I actually like it, once I've woken up of course!! LoL...But I like sitting here and knowing that most other people are asleep....It gives me some thinking time...and it's nice and quiet...Hope you are well hun and that you enjoy Christmas xXx

Sue...hope you are also feeling LOTS better and Thank You for ALL of your hard work this Year...I think you're amazing...xXx :)

I'm out from about 15 minutes time until about 10pm tonight....but hoping that I might have a little something to Pot when I get home....

Hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL start to the Week...and I'll "see" you all later on xXx :)

Sorry you had such a bad evening DreamerHelen. What a positive attitude you have though to write it off and begin today anew.

Wishing you all the best for today :)

  • Good morning everyone!

loveactually, a big welcome to your baby daughter, many congratulations :j
Sue-uu sorry I haven't been around for a while but I hope you are feeling much better now. A big THANK YOU is in order for all your hard work again this year, what a simply amazing total! :T I wondered whether with people failing to declare and the necessary re-jigging of the numbers that our total would be less than last year....but, nope....everyone came up trumps :)

I have a lot on still at the moment (including poorly DD and GD) so might not be able to post, but I will try to catch up, I promise. Little to pot anyway until after Christmas, just pennies, but there will be renewed vigour in January :rotfl::rotfl:

    Meanwhile TO EVERYONE:
HAPPY CHRISTMAS and a HEALTHY, WEALTHY
    NEW YEAR
and Get Well Wishes to anyone feeling poorly x
