Well, our house is still in utter chaos. As you know,my master plan was to shuffle three bedrooms worth of "stuff",so we to could paint, decorate and carpet three bedrooms between 27th Dec and going back to work/school on Monday.Yeah.....right!:eek:Three bedrooms and our front room are still floor to ceiling with the contents of cupboards, wardrobes etc.Yesterday a very heavy wooden otterman was jammed in doorway of the younger girls' bedroom-they had to climb over it to get in and out of the room.Since 27th,the only clothes our 8yo has been able to wear are those that at the time had been either in the dirty wash basket or washing machine, because her chest of drawers until tonight was in the centre of a bedroom, facing a wall, boxed in by another wardrobe, with not enough room to open the drawers .
Well,it always used to look so easy on DIY SOS :rotfl:.
Potting-wise,it has been tricky accessing my pots,so I have been keeping the coins I intend to pot in my dressing-gown pocket.I know it includes abit of house-kill,some change from shopping, and,if OH doesn't pick it up from the kitchen bench by tomorrow (three days after I told him it was HIS change, for HIM,from the money HE gave me to buy fish and chips the other night because there was too much clutter to cook a meal in our kitchen),I will be potting HIS £5 note as well.Because it is HIS but he won't look after it :rotfl:.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Haha Sue......I know, I'm like Speedy Gonzales!!!!!! Always pot a lot at Christmas/New Year as I always have a budget for nights out/Xmas parties and anything that is not spent goes straight in the tin. I am sure my next tin will take much longer to fill.

I've decided that, because I keep forgetting, I will go back to potting £7 each week on a Friday plus other bits and pieces as we go along. At least then I have a chance of making my target :rotfl:
It was a NSD here todaybut that means zero to pot
BTW - the wind is really up already here and showing at about 70mph so the bridge is closed - hope it eases soon as the windows are starting to rattle
Hope you all have a frugal Friday

She was in bed all day so I didn't have the chance to ask her, and when I got home she was out and I found it on her bed. It could not have been taken yesterday as she'd arrived home in the early hours while I was still up and she went almost straight to bed.
Thanks for the advice about asking her to return things after she has borrowed them. I don't think anything she does is malicious, just thoughtless.

Thought you had a ring missing for a number of weeks. Must be my mistake. I'm very glad you have found it.

Good morning
Found a £2 coin this morning so in it goes. Done for the day, so will catchup later.
XxJan 2025 £26561.43/£0. I want to clear £9000 this year (2025)0 -
£3.17 into the jar this morning making my total to date £15.59. I'm really rather pleased with that seeing as I started a week ago!!!
it just goes to show how much I've been wasting though as we live rather close to our little corner shop and any cash until now (bits and pieces) have been spent over there on things we really haven't needed.MSE-ing since 20070 -
Morning all.
Welcome to more new potters - good luck with your savings.
Some great potting going on and large amounts too. But, everything potted is a bonus and will come in handy come "pay day".
8 x £1 coins potted from yesterday. I'll be pushing and potting until I get past my half-way mark.
Hope you haven't been troubled too much by the strong winds!! Crazy through the night!!

Searched about and found my sealed tin. There's a little bit in it - looks like 1p's and 5p's. I can't get it out with a ruler or a knife so I'll leave it and just deduct from total come November. I've cleared my purse out and put £2.00 of change in the pot.GC Challenge March £55.48/£2000

Thanks for letting cozza know, Vicky, and a gold star to you for helping out with her No.:staradmin It's not at all sad to be interested in the amount of members, on the contrary, it's really nice for me to know folk are interested.I expect you also noticed I'm giving new members the old Nos of those who haven't returned, seems little point in doing owt else really and they can always rejoin.
A gold star to you also, 32b3, :staradmin thanks for your help.
Bless you, mummytummy, though this is only little ol me. Incidentally, how are things going in Oz, are you safe?scotmumof3 wrote:We used to have those coins up here in Scotland and I took a couple to the bank a few months ago with a pay-in I had and the cashier took them no problem. I'm sure there are some still around only problem is I think the weight is different than the new ones so the machines don't register them.
Made DD and I some lovely veg and noodle soup
Thanks a lot for clearing the odd £2 coins up, scotmumof3, so you could say it's your fault!Joking I promise. BTW, you wrote about your soup, it sounds delicious, have you got a recipe?? :dance:DH & I have a gorgeous veg stew with dumplings (for our main meal) but want to try to get away from all the fat that's in dumplings, sounds like noodles are a far better option.
You be sure to hang onto that mojo, mumof3plusoh!!DreamerHelen wrote:I think I'm addicted to Potting money this YearI've Potted another £2.50 this morning....but that's definitely it until tonight or maybe even tomorrow....Not sure whether I'll need to spend any money tonight....certainly not while I'm at Work but I don't have a lot of Food in the Fridge but then again I'm not eating much at the moment with my health being the way it is....so I think I will be okay without buying much....We'll see how I'm feeling when I finish Work at 9pm....

I love the part about you saving HIS £5er, Saver-upper, but if he won't take care of it....! Chaos still remains then! It has to look worse before it can look better.lynnejk wrote:Don't forget guys and gals that we should also mention something about our savings whilst we having a chat or Sue-UU will be placing us all on the naughty step
BTW - the wind is really up already here and showing at about 70mph so the bridge is closed - hope it eases soon as the windows are starting to rattle
How right you are, Lynne, even mention of a 1p saved keeps us on topic and free from the board guides notice.A wise idea about the £7 per week. Do keep safe and stay indoors!
It's true, Nicki_Sue, and most SPCers soon say they didn't realise how much they wasted until the began saving it instead. Keep up the great work.Enjoy a wonderful weekend, SPCers, and to all our Northern and Scottish members - do be careful with the winds & rain, better still STAY INDOORS!!

NB: SPC Savers: 5th November will be the new 2015 opening date!
