If it was that easy just to put a label on something and then it gets in then the people who want to smuggle drugs or other illegal goods in to the UK will be laughing won't they!!!
Eh? What are you on about?
I was simply making the point that if an individual buys something from a UK company and that UK company sources that something from outside the EU, then the responsibility for importing that something is theirs and not the individual.
And that company needs to get its logistic chain sorted out so that it takes customs clearance into account. It's not rocket science. There's a whole industry devoted to that kind of thing.0 -

try google 'customs clearance agents' - dozens of them. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Back on topic, despite the way the OP depicts themselves, I actually agree with a lot of what they say.
I've just used the website to add something to the basket, and follow a checkout process. On most pages throughout I see a Yorkshire address at the bottom, a .co.uk domain, a UK phone number at the top, a UK flag at the top and a copyright notice at the bottom attributed to "Bits and Pieces UK".
I can fully understand why the OP thought they were UK based.
As for the "up to 28 days depending where you are in the world", anyone with half a brain could actually assume that applies to other people in the world outside the UK.
Yes, there are a couple of tell-tale signs (e.g. no companies house registration, no UK WHOIS registration, mispelling of Catalogue) but people don't check that.
Their operations are clearly misleading, but probably not illegal. So OP in future I'd suggest avoiding them.0 -
Maybe they just have something against Ipswich...thats understandable

They do not say that items are being dispatched from USA. You are wrong. I strongly suggest you get your facts straight. Also the homepage does not mention EST. Clearly they are out to mislead and take peoples money. Is this a fraudulent site?0

Poppie68, if you think that it's ok for a website to operate in the way that bits and pieces do, whereby items remain undelivered after a 28 day period and mislead in suggesting that they are a uk company and have a history of customers who for years have not had goods delivered then you are one sandwich short of a picnic0

But Poppie68 wasn't the one foolish enough to make a purchase without doing some research on the seller first.0 -
Read Proc, 2 messages above and Antrobus. I rest my case.0

Hey I'm not the person who ordered from a company who as you say have a history of customers who for years not had goods delivered.....'fool's and their money' eh!
'Smartest cookie'......'Sandwich short of a picnic', I'm seeing a pattern here.0 -

I'm just at the checkout page now. It says this:
We have no EST here, that's USA time. And the shipping fee area has the currency in dollars. I think we have enough there to work out it's coming from the States!0
