The telephone no of the Bits & Pieces UK website does not state EST, instead it registers as 0871 472 4277 . This is normal for a UK company.

Yes it does. "Catalog" is also the American spelling.
Contact us by any means below:

    0871 472 4277
Calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras.
    Call 7am to 7pm EST Mon-Fri
    8AM to 8PM, Monday - Friday
    9AM to 5PM, Saturday - Sunday
FAX your catalog order form to: 0871 472 4252
  • No it doesn't.

This is a cut and paste from the homepage -
Satisfaction Guaranteed! Order online or call 8-8, Mon-Fri and 9-5, Weekends: 0871 472 4277 Call costs 10p per minute plus network extras.

    No mention of Catalogs!

Also, the address is quoted as:

    Bits and Pieces
    Wadsworth Road
    Kelleythorpe Ind Est Driffield
    YO25 9DJ

Which incidentally is an address in Yorkshire,

So, we have a UK website call Bits & Pieces selling 'stuff' from USA but presiding under the identity of a UK address and with a telephone no that appears to also be UK based. Their T&Cs do not mention that stuff is brought across from USA, in my case delivery it is now over 28 days.

If I have something that's in Bits & Pieces then generally I think that it should be thrown away. The website name says it all.

Yes it does! My quote is from their 'contact us' page. Here is the link if you still don't believe me.

Should've, could've, would've looked harder before hitting the button to confirm your purchase.

And yet it says 'Catalogue Request' in the Quick Menu links at the bottom of the page. What does it matter? All that means is that someone has forgotten that little bit of the translation. I'll bet that Amazon sometimes makes mistakes when it's converting between .de and .pl.:)

It's quite simple really bitsandpiecesuk.co.uk is owned by Kafka UK Direct Limited, which is a UK company. If their logistics chain is so screwed up it takes them a month to deliver, I think it's fair enough to make people aware of that fact.

...Have you considered that the reason your parcel isn't here yet, is that it might be held up at customs? Therefore, it's not Bits and Pieces' fault that you haven't received it yet....

Of course it's their bl00dy fault if it's held up at customs. They're flippin well importing it, they should know what they're doing, and have all that customs clearance malarkey sorted out. You wouldn't buy that excuse from Tesco Direct if they claimed that the Technika telly you'd ordered from them was 'held up at customs' now would you?

    Oh yes, and the Daily Mirror says this;

I can only assume that you must be an employee of Bits & Pieces hence the misleading reply you have just provided.

My item is now well over the 28 days stated which contravenes the Bits & Pieces Terms & Conditions. To be clear Bits & Pieces say on their T&Cs, 'Your order will normally be despatched within 48 hours of its receipt, although you should allow up to 28 days for delivery depending on where you live'. In other words, the website does not inform customers that items are dispatched from the USA and will take 28 days if you live in the UK.

Most people would interpret (based on an online survey I have carried out) that being dispatched within 48 hours the item will be dispatched in the UK and arrive only a few days later

So, back to my original comment, I have paid £4 delivery for an item that has exceeded the upper delivery period of 28 days stated and as yet the item remains 'not delivered'.

The customer services department did not apologise for misinforming customers when I explained my issue.

If anyone was to use Bits & Pieces now for Christmas delivery then Best of British luck to them!!
No where does it say it will definitely be dispatched within 48 hours and also the hours are in EST which is US Eastern Time, as you state it doesnt say that then it is quite clear you havent even researched the company, even a whois will show it is hosted in the US and the owner is a US located, and merely picking out the bits you want to see.
  • Thanks antrobus, you are probably the smartest 'cookie' on here (not 'meatballs' as some people infer)

So its true after all, Bits & Pieces is not registered with companies house, it has swindled many with undelivered goods. This is a company to be avoided at all costs

The 'Penman and Sommerlad Investigation' is very interesting

    antrobus, you are a genius!

'Smartest cookie on here'...why because they agree with you? You should of entitled your thread..'I only want people that agree with me to help/advise/reply'

The smartest cookies are the cookies that read t&c properly and understand up to 28 day's means exactly what it says.

Why would something take 28 days to arrive from Yorkshire? It's obvious that's just an office not a warehouse facility.

In all fairness most online retailers state up to 28 day's delivery even if the delivery is being sent from somewhere within the UK, so you wouldn't automatically think it's coming from overseas.

I disagree. Almost everything I buy say's 3 to 5 days delivery. I have placed more than 300 online orders this year from UK companies.
