i was looking into pensions the other day ... private ones ... im no where near old enough apparently to start contributing ... me and my partner are 22
22 is a great age to start contributing to a pension. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/wales/debt_w/debt_pensions_e/debt_starting_a_pension_e.htm

Look outside this thread for discussions on pensions.

i also looked into the funeral things where you pay for it before you die leaving your family nothing to worry about .. im not old enough for that either
Hate to be brutal but none of us have any guarantee to live to an old age. Not sure funeral plans are value for money though - I admit I have never looked into having one myself as I am less than convinced the company I took out the plan with will still be in business when I pop my clogs. If you do want to take out a funeral plan, read this: https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/funeral-plans. But it's not what would generally be considered savings, and definitely not investments. It's just an insurance policy that will have to pay out at some stage (if the company still exists).
  • I don't have a funeral plan money wise, but I do have a written plan of what I would like at my funeral.

Do you have sufficient life insurance?
