It's this lockdown thing, drives people barking. You have a gentle dig at someone, they respond in kind and before you know it there's a phantom elephant in someone's freezer, a French vacuum cleaner called Henri de Vac in Greyqueen's cupboard, and a most fearsome character called Nursie who will sort you out with a pair of rubber gloves and a sink plunger.
Flylady I think was an American who published motivational stuff on how to organise housework, and there is a weekly Flylady thread on MSE Oldstyle based on that.
All part of this eclectic mix of folk on OS. Just go with the flow, even if it doesn't always make sense. At least it stops us pounding the streets starting fights. One life - your life - live it!13 -
Laura_Elsewhere said:(anyone else completely mystified?!)It was a bit of fun over a number of years Laura involving one of the prepper threads and various tougher ones. Not nasty. Mar and i have been winding each other up for years. It was hilarious at times and I've very fond memories of that time (apart from the dreaded Nursie) I've no idea how GQ summoned her up.pollyx

There but for fortune go you and I.12 -
Laura and Si, I'm not surprised you are mystified. But it makes me giggle remembering. If you get a sufficiently frivolous mood going on these threads the banter flies thick and fast. I don't think we've had anything like it since lockdown started. Shame. It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!13

I have been very entertained over the last couple of years by reading about raucous parties, elephants, sweetie monsters😜 et al 🤣 Anything to make this period in our lives a little easier to cope with is very welcome 👏 I seem to recall damaged hedges, free flowing alcohol but very few hangovers 😉Be Kind. Suffice to say that I for one, have not suffered a shortage (what a lot of SSes in that sentence eh) not suffered a shortage of meat in lockdown.ner ner ner6

Best start using all that meat up, Ming Vase, because we might have a shortage of fresh veg this winter for various reasons, and you need to start stocking up on good stuff like kale etc.One life - your life - live it!8
