The elephant was a friend, trying to help out, and you tricked it.
And it was only on loan from the flyladies, so be careful or they’ll be descending en masse with their dusters...7 -

As I recall, the elephant was a prized member of the Fencers Army and only borrowed from the Flyladies, who are probably still waiting for its return. I hope that they are blissfully unaware that it ended up in MingVase's freezer.
Those were the fun days.
Well, not fun for the elephant. Obviously.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I dunno. It might be reconnecting with it's woolly mammoth roots..

MingVase said:Are you telling me you're blameless??Hmmmm?? I mean, you never ate a pilchard? Hmmmm? A sardine? Not sure if this question is for me Mar . No idea how an elephant compares to a fish but no I've never eaten a pilchard or sardine or any tinned fish.I'm very boting when it comes to fish. Haddock undyed smoked or unsmoked and sometimes hake. Usually go for Scottish haddock.I've never eaten Salmon fresh or tinned. The eldest of my two younger sisters discovered the smell of the awful salmon paste in the 50s made me feel sick so would stand in front of me chewing and breathing in my face.I can still picture that bright pink goo.I live somewhere famed for potted shrimps but have never tried them. The middle of the three daughters was fascinated by the fish laid out in the local fishmongers window and would stand saying "Look at the eyes, look at the eyes" That was picked up by her siblings and still said to this day when passing the fish shops. My dad the chef was a hake, haddock and cod man. Of course he cooked whole salmon etc but fish at home was haddock or cod.The various meat and fish pastes of the time- still some rationing- turned my stomach and have never been on my shopping list. Neither have shellfish.I'm boring but content.Does anyone know if Softstuff is ok? The talk of Heffalumps has reminded me of the Heffalump and Nursie.pollyx

I think Nursie was last seen heading Softstuff's way, so I don't hold out much hope...7

I've just remembered Mad Arthur asking for advice on cooking lamb a few Christmas's ago. I replied and also recommended Mary Berry's meat cookery book. I was berated later as there weren't Cooking an Elephant instructions in the book.Wasn't the Flyladies elephant an inflatable? She couldn't have carved up and roasted that. Then there was the one borrowed from Discworld and a possible third. As far as I'm aware only Lyn and I were drinking herbal tea and sober. Most of you were three sheets in the wind at Burtha's party.Police dog, police officer and many memories of that one.polllyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
