It's cold, damp and foggy here. It feels wintry. I'm going to light the candles soon as it's already quite dark.

we actually got down to sorting our winter kits today, undoing the bags from last year and re-vamping. We put much warmer hats in and added snow grips to our walking boots, 3 bags in the car now and just waiting for the cereal bars, de icer, chocolate and water to come in my delivery tomorrow. Not that we would be travelling anywhere if the forecast is bad but it is the sudden stuff that could take us by surprise
Re dunelm curtains, we like the plain insulating ones that we have upstairs in the bedrooms. They cut out the moonlight and do make a difference to keeping the warmth in.
Eerie weather today, sunny but damp on the ground all day and no wind at all, the anemometer is absolutely still and it can detect a breeze of 1 mph. It is like a stillness is settling0 -
Nurse Maggie - you were right! My Black Friday (Saturday really) purchase from Sainsbury's was a 50p plastic jug.

Hi Kittie, bought another lighter from Wilkinsons today: Refillable utility lighter £2. It has a lockable switch and conforms to British Safety standards. (I'm wary that cheap sometimes can be iffy and would rather buy something reputable.) It was amongst their 'really useful kitchen gadgets'. HTH anyone looking for them
Thanks Mrs LW, a friend of ours has just returned from Berlin and really enjoyed it.The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Up unusually early for the weekend, so DP and I sallied forth to brave ald! and MrT.
Incredibly quiet for a Saturday morning! UHT milk has been stocked up, the new fuel arrived yesterday so we are having a sneaky fire with that tonight to see how it compares to the old stuff we are still finishing off - if all is ok, we will order more to top up the bunker again.
A vital part of winter prep, the Xmas cake is now in the oven, a month late, but with plenty of brandy it'll still be good:beer: Cake is the essential post-snow-drift-digging fuel chez Bb!***Mortgage Free Oct 2018 - Debt Free again (after detour) June 2022***

Went to Aldi today & stocked up using my voucher from the paper. I've got another set of vouchers I'll use early next week. Lots of UHT milk, chopped tomatoes, coconut milk (use this to whip up a quick curry) rice pudding & a couple of tinned sponge puddings. Got about a months worth of cat litter in so thats something I don't need to worry about & got plenty of cat food in. All the basics are well socked, just have to see what the weather has in store for us now. It's reassuring to know that if we can't or even don't want to go out shopping for a while, we don't have to.0

Thank you Kate, I forgot cat litter!!
I have the usual 1.5 bags here, which will last quite a while as my moggy "goes" most of the time outside-but she defiantly won't be pushed through the door in bad weather conditions-which means rain and wind (we get a lot of wind)
I have another £10 voucher for next week too-shame fussy moggy won't eat Aldii food-spolit brat!!!:j0
