A really nice, positive and productive day today.
Woke up feeling fantastic, ready to go. Lovely morning with DS and then walked him to school.
Packaged up an eb@y parcel that sold last night. It's actually one of DS's birthday presents from my friend that he wasn't using so wanted to sell and it fetched an amazing £103. A promotion meant he only paid £3 in fees overall so a very nice result for his savings account, jealous :rotfl: I obviously have to do all the work, put it online, post it - I think I should take some commission :rotfl:
So I took that to the post office. Dropped by a pet shop to buy some hamster food as we'd run out. Went to 3 different supermarkets to stock up on all kind of bits of food that should last a while. Ordered tooth-floss and headphones online as they finally gave up on me. Then sat down to write down my goals for June. All looking good and very very exciting. It'll be a fantastic, fun and achievement filled month.
I've now got to go hover up, do some yoga and then DS wants to play all sorts of board and card games. I love playing games :j:rotfl:0 -
Tonight's dinner was a chicken curry as per DS's request - great choice. Sooo delicious
Followed by the games. Twister was a bit of a disaster :rotfl: We both kept falling over. But we laughed loads and loads. And Top Trumps is always a winner too though DS bosses it every time. Can't remember last time I won
Washed up, then did yoga. I picked an amazing sequence. Was super challenging but made me so happy. My legs are going to be like jelly tomorrow :rotfl: Getting up off the toilet will be a struggle :rotfl:
Got in touch with a friend, hoping we can catch up this month as I haven't spoken to him properly since early May due to exams.
Also got in touch with another friend to see if he can have DS for a day whilst I do my CBT so I can book it. He'll get back to me with dates, fingers crossed0 -
Friend replied last night, we had a good chat and will be meeting up on 23rd. Probably drinks and a bite to eat. Will be loads of fun.
I've also created a group to go camping. We've just got to decide on the place and date, I'm thinking August as it'll be warmest hopefully.
Today has been great again. Very nice, chilled morning with lots of reading. Made lamb koftas and ratatouille for lunch, loads left for tomorrow as well. Was full enough to not need dinner. I've lost another lb so all going in the right direction :T:T:T
Played Cluedo with DS. He won every time... Every single time. The boy is seriously good at board games. I did kick his !!! at a card game called Karma (that's the nicer name).
Afterwards we went out for a nice bike ride. It was late enough to be quiet but still very warm. Soothing and relaxing, enjoyed it very much.
Done yoga, chose a core sessionWell... planks, crunches, planks, more planks and more crunches :rotfl: Loved it.
My last job last night was to look over the finances. Since we were away at the end of May, I didn't do the usual roundup which I have now done. All looking as it should be and running smoothly.
My friend talked me into doing kickboxing next Tue. He's been asking me to come for 7yrs. 7yrs... :rotfl: He has a black belt in Taekwondo and is now aiming for a black one in KB. I just don't see the appeal but he finally got to me, I said yes :rotfl: I'm sure I'll very much regret it, it's a 90min class  Meeting him for lunch on Thursday. Last time we went to this amazing place and I got a lamb massaman curry which was divine so will be repeating that again0 -
Heard the most amazing phrase today which literally defines my life:
'Pick your pain in life - one of getting things done or one of regret'.
Never been afraid of pain, in fact I invite it. Everything I've got is because of it.0 -
Such a busy day so far.
Popped into Sup@rdrug to get a few things + the last couple of travel sized toiletries we need for the next holiday.
Went to Uni to print off A LOT of 11+ test papers for DS. Good luck to him :rotfl: I'm sure he'll make me suffer with him, always does...
Called the motorbike place and CBT is 8am-4pm. My friend said he could have DS one Saturday at some point this month, as soon as he knows which one, I can then book it. Can't wait! Theory test after, already looking at materials online.
Finished the lamb and veg from yesterday for lunch, so good
No idea what's for dinner, might not even be hungry again.
Think we'll go to a park after school, weather is lovely again today :T0 -
DS had a nose bleed last night. I have two mattress covers on for things like that and mostly cause I cannot stand a stained mattress. So I took the opportunity to wash everything this morning. Surprisingly blood came out without any stains.
Tomorrow after school we're going to opticians for another contact lense teach and learn for DS. This is our 3rd go :rotfl: He just cannot get them in! I feel bad for him, it's not easy. But he desperately wants to wear them for sports and he also gets sick of his glasses so we'll give it another try. Fingers crossedIce cream to follow I'm sure for great effort no matter the result.
Asked one of my friends to check for a bike for me at his work. I need to get one so me and DS can go cycling together and with friends. Hopefully he'll find something nice and reasonably priced.
Been invited to a baby shower. I was the first person (even before her BF :rotfl:) to find out she was pregnant :A Haven't seen her for a couple of months now so will be great to catch up with both, her and the bump. Have asked if she's got a gift list, will see what she comes back with. If not, I've got a few defaults I go to that are always useful.
Have also arranged to go to a Funzing talk later on this month with a friend.
Calendar is now really filling up for June and July with loads of fun activities which is exactly what I was after :j:j:j And weather seems to be perfect for it too.0 -
So the contact lense appointment didn't go too well :rotfl: However, this time I just took down the prescription and I'll buy a box online so DS can try them at home in peace. The lady kept touching her eye and opening both eyelids really wide, it was so cringe :rotfl: She was trying, bless her, but seeing the back of her eyeball did not help.
I think tonight once DS goes to bed I'll go back to ASOS and buy a few things for the summer/autumn. Annoyingly, a lot of the stuff I'd added before the holiday is now out of stock so I'll have to scour through the pages again.
Still got yoga to do tonight. Another core session last night, really empowering.
Not much else to report, waiting on a few things/dates to be confirmed. Otherwise, everything is going according to plan.0 -
So my friend got back to me and she doesn't have a gift list. I ordered a couple of classics - Sophie the giraffe and Guess How Much I Love You gift edition book. I've got some tissue paper and a gift bag somewhere, I'm sure. Will dig around.
Did place that order with ASOS last night, £200. However, I know I won't keep loads so the final cost will be very different.
I did a deep stretch yoga session with hip openers last night, felt amazing. Woke up this morning, and I couldn't move  Something happened to the top left side of my back, it's agony. Is it a nerve?.. Heat patch is not working. I don't think it was yoga as I didn't do anything on the top last night. I'm literally struggling to move and I've got things to do. Let's hope it goes away soon :rotfl:0 -
The pain is about 50% gone now but it really slowed everything down today. I also fell asleep at 12ish until 3pm  I must have needed it. Woke up and couldn't put a top on through the pain. I'm not gonna take any painkillers because I want to feel it to know how I'm doing. I remember when I declined any pain relief during childbirth... :rotfl: The looks I got. Thankfully this is nothing like it
But it's made me feel nauseous and I've hardly eaten all day, just had loads of tea.
DS has been an angel, I'm so lucky to have him :A He made me laugh loads and then pressed on the area where it hurts and that actually helped a lot. I must be crazy but I'm considering yoga later on. I need to move a bit, I'm really not good at staying still.
I managed to wash up, make dinner, take the bins out, change the sheets, do 2 loads of laundry and read for a bit. But I want to be back to 100% tomorrow so we can have a good weekend and take a trip somewhere. This is a reminder to NEVER take for granted how active I am and how well I feel every single day. Thank you Universe0 -
Back is pretty much back to normal. Making DS some food and will then do a yoga session.
Going to go to a lake today. Feed the birds, mooch around, go for some nice walks. I feel like we both really need to get back to nature and walk barefoot, so that will be done.
Contacts got delivered this morning, DS will try them out tonight. Fingers crossed :rotfl: He wants to play rugby so that is a huge incentive to succeed
Will need to do a food shop tonight probably. No plans to go out tonight or meet up with any friends so will be working on myself and life coaching. Sounds like a nice, relaxing and at the same time active weekend - exactly what we both needed.
Oh, and my bestie has been messaging me all morning about his amazing spa day and massages he's getting :D:rotfl: Would love a massage... Maybe I'll budget that into July.0
