SIM card without topping up

I am looking at getting a pay as you go sim for work. I do not intend on using the phone to make outgoing calls but just for others to call me. I understand most networks require you to make a top up periodically?

Does anyone know of any networks that do not or require top ups less frequently than others?

Thanks

    Credit does not run out and the card will remain active providing you make a chargeable call or text every 6 months without the need to top up

    For incoming calls only, Giffgaff is the best as it's the only network where incoming calls count for keeping sim alive (no need to think about making outgoing chargeable calls).

    That's true but you have to rely on someone calling at least 4 times with calls lasting over 10 seconds otherwise it will expire.

    Not every network is 6 months, some are less ,best to check the T&C of your preferred network.

    Yes i noticed it mentioned the other day on say no to 0870.

    "Clause 13.3 of the giffgaff Terms & Conditions states:

    13.3. Your SIM Card will be disconnected unless, at least once every six months, your Account is used to:
    a) make at least one call, SMS or MMS to another number (not including calls to emergency services or Member Services);
    b) make at least one connection to the Internet;
    c) make at least 4 received calls of more than 10 seconds;
    d) make at least one airtime credit or Bundle purchase; or
    e) receive Payback Points."

    As far as I'm aware the majors are all 6 months or 180 days with the exception of Lyca 120 days, Lebara 84 days and Peoples 3 months.
    The only one that's longer is Family and that's a year

    White Mobile are one of the shortest, I think they disconnect after 60 days.

    It's been like that for ages.

    But probably a good deal for the OP as they expect to be receiving calls, and in any event could just set a 6 month diary event to call themselves from the office 4 times.

    It's only really an issue if you need a phone that's going to sit in the glove compartment and might not even be picked up more than once every year.

    The OP will have to top up a minimum of £10, and can get an extra £5 for ordering through a referral link, but can effectively keep the credit permanently with little effort.

    I have a Three PAYG phone on the corner of my desk.
    We use it to receive occasional incoming calls.
    We have had it for around four years - can't really remember.

    It has *NEVER* been topped up it has *NEVER* had any credit on it over this time.

    Daughter1 was given it by Three when she upgraded her phone to put in her old phone to 'give to a family member'

    It still works, I just phoned it!

    :)
