    This freezer sounds good.
Ice King CFAP300 Chest Freezer, it uses a freezer guard system, making it suitable to be used in ambient temperatures down to – 15 degrees, making this garage or out building safe.

    Only £249.99 at co-op electrical

I also liked that one, but unfortunately, it was just a bit too big to fit in.

Plus the co-op electrical is one of the Q. bonus retailers, so would have been great to buy from.

I have one about the same age and it's in the garage. Never had any problems with it being outside. I have a newer one in there as well but we haven't had a really cold winter since I got the newer one.

The only problem i have is in the winter the ice builds up between the rubber seal, but i think thats with the condensation for tumble.
Mine was in there when it was -15 in 2010

I love it when "oldies" pop in at the beginning of a new thread - just wish they could not keep having a door slammed in their face :( Makes me sad that they are made to feel so unwelcome that they may not keep coming back. I too would like to see them posting more regularly on here.

I only post on mse and have never been a member of any fb group, but I am aware that there is an fb feud based only on what is posted here - who isn't? But 90% + of folk who use this thread have absolutely no idea of the why's and wherefores and am guessing that the majority, like me, would like to keep it that way.

When these peeps pop in, what I see is pleasant chatty posts from folk that I respect and admire and feel so very grateful towards, as they were the ones who were instrumental in starting up these threads and getting permission from BGs and mse towers to "host" it where it is. These are soon to be followed by a number of aggressive, critical, negative posts from some current regulars, people that I also respect and admire. It is difficult.

I loved it when tweets started a thread and so many piled in to say hello :T. It is not pathetic or stupid to support a much loved and valued contributor - it was lovely and a fantastic testament to what tweets has brought to this thread. Never an aggressive or rude comment towards anyone :A

So it is just the flip side to the same coin. Room for everyone, all welcome. It is good to have different perspectives and I hope all past contributors will feel able to pop in to say hello and be welcomed if they do so.

Thank you :) Made me feel special :A

Notes to self for the use of the new feezer.

    1) Always make sure opened bags of peas, sweetcorn etc are closed properly before putting back in the freezer

    2) Label anything that has been taken out of its original wrapper, so I will know what it is in a few months time.

    3) Ensure that everything is crop rotated and that new purchases are not just put on top of older items.

    4) Do not buy anything else to go in the freezer until it is at least half emptied.

Does anyone have any more suggestions, for keeping the contents of a freezer in good order?:)

    2) Squigs also date the labels ;)
