Hi tweets
Hope you don't mind if I pop on with a bit of information that'll help you take more control of your monthly payments.
If you've registered your account with our website, you'll be able to use a tool called the Direct Debit Manager. This lets you change the amount you pay each month. Comes in handy should circumstances change.
Provided the account is billed up to the latest meter readings you can change payments by up to 20 per cent up or down. By up to 5 per cent up or down without readings. Before putting the change through, we'll let you know by how much we anticipate the account will be in credit/debit if the payments are altered but usage doesn't change accordingly.
As you say, come your annual review in May, any credit balance over a fiver will automatically be sent back to your bank.
You're right to be cautious with winter kicking in so hope the above helps.

Good Afternoon Malc
I am on smart meters for both Gas and Electricity so bills are always up to date.
Thank you for popping onto the elite and explaining things to me.
I do have an account online but didn't really understand the Direct Debt manager so felt easier ringing EON.
Malc now you have explained it to me it sounds simples thank you.
If I need to alter my Direct Debits in the future I will know what to do thank you.0 -

Thanks to TS, I've just booked little sis and me in at our local extra, never been to one before so looking forward to itIt means you are sweating a bit - just like me when mine went to minus about £20 last night due to crappy subs! I have been assured that the cash will be ref'unded to my credit card - both on here and instore. I really don't want my account looked at too closely - and I don't suppose you want yours examined either.
Thanks, yes your right. Tbh, my minus is less than a fiver so I'm happy to take it on the chin, but hopefully it will be credited, we'll see:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -

Just back from T's. Picked up a CC shop done Tuesday night, 4 bottles wine, 1 bottle JD (OH Xmas pressie), cheese, milk and aero mousse.
Original price £63, £21 in coupons then only £19 to pay (half price offers kicked in) :j
My shop worked too thanks to the OP who posted about the code for the wine.
4 bottles of wine, 32 toilet rolls, and 4 bottles various cleaning stuff for under £17. :T:T:T
Accepted the household code and my conditional spend too. :cool:0 -
Hi zippy,
Are you saying that this would hypothetically work ?
£30 guide price
£20 evoucher used
Picked at £22 (OOS, RTCs etc)
£2 charge on card
Refuse £5 item at CC (or later at CS)
£5 refund on card
Thanks in anticipation!
yes it would work, but on a charge like that its better to do on pick up or cs in store.
I have few times refused some goods of a greater value of the cash ive used. (only because I genuinely did not want subs, or eggs were broken). eg £10 invoice after deductions, then refused £14 of goods.
my credit card statement showed £10 charge
then a few days later a £14 refund0
