I snapped at OH's aunt tonight which is not like me at all. :o She was trying to give me reasons for DD1 not wanting to be home as if none of them had entered my mind. :o:o

We always spend boxing day with Mr TS's family at his cousins but I don't want to share DD1 and Teeny too early in the day as not seeing them xmas day which I had sort of come to terms with.

Mr TS says he is not doing xmas dinner twice I had hoped we would open presents, have small meal and then go later. :(

Being told I am the selfish one, why is no one else selfish doing what they want.

Not wanting to make light of this - I know it's more complicated than I read it, but could you plate up xmas day and reheat... not ideal but a compromise of sorts?

Doesn't sound like you're being selfish at all from what I gather.

    Meanwhile, as regards my shops:

In total, your Sainsbury's shops have been cheaper by

    £0.00

In the last eight weeks, 0 of your shops were the same price or cheaper at Sainsbury's than they would have been at Asda.

In total, your Sainsbury's shops have been more expensive by

    £19.95

In the last eight weeks, 3 of your shops resulted in money off Brand Match coupons for the difference in price at Asda.

I must be doing something right:rotfl:. Although it was actually £2.78 more than that, as a couple of items didn't work and Sains. added the value as Nectar points - which happens to have given me a total amount exactly divisible by 250:laugh: - I like that! As to why I'm shopping in Sains., no details yet, until it's well under the bridge and safe and sound. But...I decided that it was better to shop "little but more often". I figured that doing a £25 shop, for example, however I may choose to pay for that and getting £10 BM, wasn't as good as doing two much smaller shops and getting just over £5 BM back on each. As ever, the less you spend, the more they seem to give you, requiring you not to spend as much next time. Whereas if you actually 'do what they want', and increase your spend, falling for their cond. spend offers perhaps, the less you seem to get back - them then requiring you to spend more to get those spends. So, reduce your Sains. spend as much as possible. I seem to me possibly to be the only customer who actually is living well for less in their stores:rotfl:.

If my Sains shops, on comparable branded products, were ever cheaper than A, then I would, as I see it, have done something wrong as those branded items, therefore, ought to have been bought in A for 10% off the price I paid. The ONLY exception, it seems to me, is if the items are 2p branded whoopsies. So, UNLESS the items are stickered store-specific whoopsies, you should never ever get a "you have saved" piece of paper from Sains. - because every single one of them (except for the whoopsies) is an indication that the items ought to have been bought in A and 10% cheaper than Sains.

In Sains, there is no need to spend £20 anymore. And you can now pay entirely with Nectar points and get a BM, as the 'trigger' now is 10 different items rather than the Nectar point collection amount (40 non-bag points) as which it was previously. Lots of different 10p Haribos going into my shops now on in, even if not getting 10% cheaper on them:rotfl:.

£22.73 and counting eh!:rotfl: I very much look forward to that £0.00 amount remaining exactly as it is:D;).

Your not being selfish hug4.gif you have an expectation and its not being met. It's ok to be disappointed. It's normal to be disappointed! I expect it will happen to us all one day. Me and Mr FC joke about being sat here eating a pork pie for our Christmas dinner one day :o :rotfl:
Your DD and her partner and Teeny might just want a special day together. At that age you don't think ahead, it's all about love and babies ;). Traditions are lovely but they sometimes die out. It's sad when they do but that's how it is.

It's only a day, just like any other day really. Chances are there will be much more silly memories that will stick in your mind than what you did at Christmas and probably more special. All the moments that made you smile that you didn't plan for.....:)

I can say this because Im not a granny yet :p

I totally get that and as I say have sort of come to terms with it, haven't even rowed about that.

But Mr TS has thrown spanner in the works as he still wants boxing day to be as always with his family and so does DD1. And I am being selfish, I thought I was compromising but seems not. :(

I just wanted to do the nanny thing just like my mum used to. :o

Was not even suggesting we had the whole xmas dinner thing again, just left over meat, stuffing and probably veg, just some fresh roasties. When that was not agreeable, said would get some ready done like Finest Ts roasties.

Now in bad books as if I can put up with them boxing day why would we have proper ones xmas day. (OH usually cooks) :o

Oh TS I feel for you hug4.gif you should be happy that DD1 wants to follow her Dads 'tradition' and anyway by the time it's all over you will probably be left to enjoy teeny all by yourself ;)......:D

Can you still use your dart tag. What bugs me is that these poor people lost their jobs and this has been taken over by a french company . The bridge was paid off over a decade ago. The french will make a killing from this.

I am not sure about dart tag as going on vehicle recognition but there were still 3 dart tag lanes so I presume so until tag expires.

I agree shocking the jobs lost
Also shocking that there has been no preparation for notifying drivers. I am a fortnightly user and was never given a leaflet of any kind.
Both my sister and dd said they wouldn't know to pay and fine due from midnight. Not sure if still free between 10pm and 6am either. No notices. Mum says south bound have had the barriers removed already.

Think it will just turn into wacky races again where you go from gantry to tunnel as no volume control.

    Evening all

See I missed the Lindor this morning. Never mind will get mum some from pick and mix shop at outlet centre instead.

Far better I got to spend a couple of hours with my dgs today as he was at his nans near dad's care home when I took her some flowers round to thank her for dad's Sunday dinner.
Dad worse but operation pyjamas successfully achieved:T

Better catch up before the next chocolate glitch.

I think you and Mr TS and whoever else is there should just enjoy christmas. DD3 will be there? What about DD2? what is she doing? Don't let it spoil things. You are close to DD1 and you will all catch up at sometime over Christmas. Just enjoy it when you do......do you really think miss Teeny is going to care about the date when she opens all those lovely pressies you've bought her? I think not ;)

Yes DD2 will be home she is sad too that DD1 won't be here xmas day, she didn't really want to travel last year but did so we could all be together. It will be the four of us xmas day and we will have xmas dinner together although looks like I might need to learn to cook decent roast pots if OH is not going to oblige. :rotfl: I am sure he will really. :o

I know Teeny won't care, it's just taking a lot of getting used to how different Christmases will be.
