    I know I suggested I was gone - but couldn't resist! I noticed the story about the consideration of a pre-watershed ban on payday loan advertising. The advertising watchdog, I'm told, is considering "...whether to impose a pre-watershed ban on payday loan TV and radio loan advertisements".

    How can it consider a pre-watershed ban for the "and radio" part? There is no watershed on radio:rotfl: ! (As a matter of fact.)

    The (UK) watershed (and there may be different times that apply to different channels, so not necessarily a single "watershed", but anyway...) is entirely a concept that applies to television and does not apply to radio regulation. I think they mean, :idea:in respect of radio, "times when children are likely to be listening".:laugh:

    Of course I've picked out that detail and ignored the total substantive part about how payday loans affect people and the role of children in persuasion of parents etc.:rotfl::rotfl: That's the issue isn't it, not some quibbling (by me) about whether watersheds apply to radio or not? Nite, nite:).

    I went - but came back!
    Okay, another "return back to specialist topic" from me, because I know some people like reading when I write about these things.

    Another insight from the Daily Mail:rotfl::rotfl::

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2850336/Autistic-people-faces-differently-Condition-causes-brain-change-way-gathers-information-expressions.html

    Including the following bullet point:

    "Scientists now want to find out how faces appear to people with autism"

    :laugh: I know how faces appear to me, so, hey, I have the answer - I have seen it my entire life:rotfl:! What I'd like to find out is how faces appear to you, those non-autistic people amongst my audience:rotfl:. Presumably there are no scientists with autism (who might be able to see how faces appear to themselves 'all the time')?:think: How could they (if non-autistic) ever know that? Presumably if they then showed it to me - and asked "is that how you see it?" - it might again be distorted through my lens of autism and appear differently to me than what actual faces do? So that I might, wrongly?, answer "No". (How could I ever see something through a non-autistic perception?) Interesting (to me(:o)).

    Finally, for now, just a little mention about phraseology, such as a "person with autism". A bit like saying someone who is, for example, a man - therefore "male" - is a "person with maleness":rotfl:. Asperger's is the person (in my view), it's not something "with" them. But I don't object to being called a "person with Asperger's" etc. (how could I object to the truth?) and don't find it offensive to be described as such.

    :rotfl::wave:

    EDIT: "The identical results suggest it is not the judgement process itself that is different in people with ASD, but the way they gather clues in the first place."

    I could have told them as much. I would have thought that this would be the case, yes.
    But who's the "they" in all of this?:eek: "Them and us!":eek::rotfl:

    This made me chuckle just now:

    http://personalitycafe.com/general-psychology/74360-everybody-has-something-wrong-them-2.html

    "Are we talking about normality from the perspective of what would be considered normal in a better society... or what is currently considered normal in our utterly flawed society?"

    Maybe a thought for the day. Or maybe, for some, an unwelcome thought, you know what I am like:D!:rotfl::rotfl:
