Morning gang
not been on for a while as DD2 is having probs at the T she works at and is now on sick leave while we try to sort something out
They were making her work till midnight and then getting her in at 5am to cash up from the night shift, she is only 19 and they were promising her the earth but using her......
anyways, she has decided to go for teacher training and applied for a teaching assistant course, she is a clever girl with good grades but didnt want to go to uni as she has just done a two year course (equivalent to 2 or 3 A levels) which should lead her in to this sort of thing....
She applied for a job via a local paper and just got a call from a training academy, they say they are a government backed company and that she needs a special diploma before she can work.
They are called DYP recruitment and they were trying to get her to pay them £295 for an online diploma......luckily I came in just in time........they have sent several links to her email and keep calling her back.
I know it must be a scam as I have never heard of this diploma and who ever heard of learning to teach on an interactive course ??
Has anyone else had experience of this, and what shall she do to get on a course ?
I just rang the jobcentre and they had no idea how to do anything like this, they gave me connexions numbers but one is a dead line and the other just rings and rings...
I wouldn't be so worried but she is already feeling low and has been sent on a course to help her self esteem by the doc.
I know you clever lot have vast life experience and could guide us xxx
Could she maybe contact the LEA and enquire about TA training? They will know what qualifications are needed. A lot of the TAs DS2 has been involved with started as volunteers at primary school and then accessed college training from there. Seems to be popular way of getting in to this type of work.
I don't know about your area but the LEA website here always has plenty of TA jobs advertised. Maybe have a look at what courses are available at local colleges?0 -

I think RDS and DYP are the same company.

DD1's BF's mum worked her way up like this, and she was allowed to teach a class even though she was not actually a teacher. DD3 was rather embarrassed to have her teach her as we had met socially.0 -

I know this won't be popular but I just want to get it out there.
Whilst I totally support emmap's idea of approaching the forum team (:A) and it has really lifted the thread to see all the support for fc (:j) , I really don't think we should be approaching the forum team at this point.
We have always gone down the route of self-policing, trying to ensure minimum attention from MSE towers, so that we can continue here uninterrupted. Same principle as flying below the radar in A or T
It looks as though we are already firmly on their radar with lots and lots of posts being reported and it sounds like a number of the thread members having recently has warningsNot sure it is a good idea to raise our profile further and in any event I am pretty sure the issue would need to be raised by one of those directly affected for the team to review it?
We have been here before, it is horrible, but it will settle down and hopefully more quickly if we all step back and carry on as usual.:o:o
And my take on this is....The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Cccccold today, frost on the car this morning.
I've got 2 apg's burning a hole in my pocket ... So I'm off for a mooch in @.
I bough DD a small flask for school, so far we've had soup, pasta in it and its kept warm for her:j
But I'm a bit worried about putting meat in it... Ie chicken casserole etc im thinking keeping it warm from 8:30am until she eats it just after 12 can't be good can it? dont want to give her an upset tummy:(
Just wondered what you all thought:)
Am I over thinking it??
Tia:)
why not try it when you are both at home preparing the flask as normal and see how hot the food is at lunch
Also how long does it say the flask keeps food hot as some are better than others0
