Will they fit?
My SFF machine has a PCI-e x1 and a PCI-e x16 for graphics and the slot is miles bigger.
Would be very handy for me if it will as I had to ditch an RS232 card and use a USB-RS232 adapter when I fitted my USB3 card and it doesn't support all the features a proper port will.

Just looked it up and see you can - that makes your suggestion very handy for me. Of course I have to find that card..0 -
You should set the machine up as dual boot not go into the BIOS each time to select a different OS - that is doing things the hard way.
Why?
2 hard drives, one a SSD.
I do have another computer which dual boots windows 7 and windows 8, it boots to the dual boot screen then when windows 7 is selected it reboots into windows 7 takes ages to boot.
Almost 2 mins.
Also my grandkids use the windows 7 OS which it boots into automatically, they never see my Windows 8.1 OS on the SSD, it is hidden in Windows 7.
My way, switch on computer, tap F12, select the Windows 8.1 disk and 10 secs later at the desktop.
That way they never come across my !!!!!! stash, :rotfl: just kiddingover 73 but not over the hill.0 -
Why not try removing the graphic card first, then putting the USB 3.0 card in the PCI express x16 slot?over 73 but not over the hill.0

i think everyone mentioned updating the BIOS on the first page0

Yes but the only available update after FH is the Beta Fld and people tend to be very wary about using beta software especially where it has the capability to brick your MB if it goes wrong. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
