Personal finance software

Hi,
I'd be really grateful for any advice on which is the best personal finance software program to use. I've looked at several but they don't have a feature I want -- I really want to be able to do create a line or bar graph to show my spending by category.
It would also be great if I could make entries via my iphone too.
Thank you in advance for any advice!

You could try Microsoft Money or YNAB, which other folks on here speak highly of.
I use my own Excel spreadsheet on my laptop and Financisco on my Galaxy mobile for recording day-to-day spending.
Hope this helps

Thank you for taking the time to reply - I do appreciate it.
I should have said that I use a Mac so Microsoft Money doesn't work. I tried YNAB and thought it was ok but it doesn't do the kind of graphs I want --sorry to be so fussy!
I used to use Home Accountz and the old version (not the new one which I thought was really user UNfriendly) allowed you to chart your spending by category over any given date period. I found it really useful. YNAB doesn't allow you to do that and I have been wading through products trying to get one that does - haven't found one yet!

Hi, had a look at Moneywiz and liked it....but it doesn't do a trend line graph for categories over time either...
I wonder if anything does?!
Is it just me that likes to look at trends in my spending by category? I find it really helps me to control my spending.

Take a look at Account Tracker (iPhone/iPad, developed by Graham Haley).
Caveat: I haven't used it myself, but his Meter Readings app is very good.0 -

I think you use Budgets for this (screenshot). Each year I tend to look at categories I've spent this year versus last. Not to control my spending in any daily sense, but to make general decisions (eat out less; lunch at work is expense; not worth paying for cable). I don't use Budgets but I think they are for regular watchers of spend.0 -

I did - sorry but I hated it! Found it really horrible to use which is a shame as I had an old version for years and thought it was really good but I just don't like the new version.0 -
Have you looked at Moneydance??0
